SELF CATERING - HOT TUB HOLIDAYS IN THE KINGDOM of FIFE – SCOTLAND
A spacious but cosy cottage in a converted farm steading featuring 2ft thick stone walls and a slated roof in beautiful North East Fife, and conveniently located for St. Andrews (35 minutes), Gleneagles (50 minutes),Perth (25 minutes), Edinburgh (45 minutes), Dundee (30 minutes) by car.
Pitmedden Farm is located 1.5 miles north of the ancient village of Auchtermuchty in a beautiful rural setting with direct access to Pitmedden Forest for those who enjoy walking and wildlife, off-road cycling or just peace and tranquillity, whilst still being close to a host of interesting facilities and historic places.
Please Note - Pitmedden is only a "hobby farm" so your stay will not be disturbed by noisy farm machinery moving about.

Accommodation:
This single level cottage sleeps up to 5 persons and comprises:-
3 bedrooms -One double bedroom : one twin bedroom : one single bedroom. All bedrooms have ample wardrobe space, bedside tables and clock/radio.
Kitchen / Diner -Fully fitted kitchen with full electric cooker, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, washer/dryer, etc. and separate furnished dining area.
Lounge -Comfortably furnished lounge with ample seating, TV with European & Freeview Satellite reception, DVD Player and CD player/radio.
Bathroom - Tiled bathroom with heated towel rail, shaver socket and shower over bath.
All rooms are electrically heated with reasonable costs included in the rental. Bed Linen and Towels are provided at no extra cost, as are hair dryers, iron and ironing boards. Cot and High chair available on request.
West cottage has its own luxury Hot Tub for exclusive and free use by the occupants, plus decked and grassed sitting and Bar-B-Q areas.

GOLF: Pitmedden is almost centrally located between St. Andrews and Gleneagles , and Carnoustie is within an hour's drive. There are also many local and qualifying courses in between, and here is just a small selection of local courses:
Falkland Golf Club
Falkland Golf Course is a short, but tough test of golf, set deep in a lush farmland area known as the 'Howe of Fife'. This is a charming 9 hole courses of undulating parkland layout.
Ladybank Golf Club
A heathland course of Championship status (Par 71) set amongst heather, pine trees and silver birch. The Championship course (6754 yards) has two loops of nine holes - visitors generally use the blue course (6299 yards).
Balbirnie Park Golf Club
Situated in Markinch near Glenrothes and set within 140 acres of superb woodland, this beautiful layout opened in 1983 and, with a par of 71 and measuring 6,300 yards from the men's tees, is a good challenge for golfers of all abilities. The course has hosted many PGA events including the Scottish Assistants Championship and with its close proximity to St Andrews is the ideal venue for the visiting golfer
Glenrothes Golf Club
Glenrothes Golf Course is an eighteen hole course 5857 metres long (6406 yards), par 71. The course occupies a prominent position on the high ground to the west of Glenrothes. Constructed in 1967 it is set in mature parkland and remains in excellent condition throughout the season.
King James VI Golf Club
The country's only self-contained river island golf course, King James VI Golf Club offers a beautiful but challenging environment for both novices and advanced players alike. Founded in 1858 nearby at Perth's South Inch, then relocated to Moncrieffe Island, elsewhere in Perth, in 1897, and a purpose-built golf course designed by 'Old' Tom Morris, the legendary winner of multiple British Open Golf Championships.
