Whether you’re wanting to just relax and enjoy a bit of peace and quiet in lovely surroundings or wish to explore the enormous range of activities in Aberdeenshire, Moray and Speyside; Hill of Maunderlea Lodges offers the perfect accommodation for your Scottish holiday, whatever the time of year.
Nestled in fourteen acres of mature woodland, set on a small hill in historic Banffshire, our four newly built lodges provide a luxury standard of self-catering accommodation in an exceptionally beautiful and peaceful location. The surrounding countryside is of gently rolling hills, dotted with market towns, woodland, small lochs and rivers which flow to a coastline punctuated with sandy beaches, rugged cliffs and rocky coves. There are also many interesting fishing villages and towns, including Portsoy and Pennan, to explore.
While exploring the local area why not do a bit of dolphin watching? Or learn to surf? There are many fabulous walks and cycle runs, pony trekking and of course fishing and who could forget golf? With the Lecht Ski Resort only an hour away by car skiing and snowboarding are also options.
If you prefer something more leisurely then there are many historic building and beautiful gardens to visit as well as the world famous whisky trail to experience. Local Highland Games and festivals provide great days out too - so much to do!
All four of our luxury lodges have panoramic views over surrounding countryside and coast and are positioned far enough apart as to afford their occupants privacy.
There are winding walks through the trees and ‘sit ooteries’ from where guests can enjoy the views, watch out for squirrels and listen to the wild birds’ song.
Each lodge can accommodate up to six guests and are equipped to the highest of standards. They are extremely cosy, with under-floor heating provided by air source pumps.
The accommodation is on two stories:
Ground floor (with wheelchair access): One double bedroom (king size bed), large wet room with shower, open-plan living/dining/kitchen area.
Upstairs: Double bedroom with balcony (king sized bed), twin room and bathroom.
Lodge appliances include:
Internet access, HDTV/ Blu Ray, Freesat, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, hob and oven, microwave, toaster - all low energy appliances.
Cots and high chairs are available on request.
There is no smoking allowed in or near the lodges.
Pets: Well-behaved pets allowed in Pine Lodge.

Strathlene Golf Club
A links course that provides spectacular views from the many holes that play near cliffs, Strathlene is notable in that it combines modern with old. You'll play recently redesigned holes that will give players a unique challenge, while heading in, you'll play some of the original holes - more than 120 years old.
Insch Golf Club
Located in the heart of rural Aberdeenshire, Scotland, nestling between the distinctive peaks of Bennachie and Dunnideer, this golf course is really the Hidden Gem of Grampian’s Crown. It is a parkland course requiring an accurate approach play to leave the ball in the correct position for the testing putts on the undulating greens.
Alford Golf Club
Surrounded by the hills of donside with Bennachie dominating, the course is challenging to golfers of all ages and ability without being physically demanding. The parkland setting is enhanced by an ongoing programme of tree management with the varied species creating an attractive environment for your enjoyment.
