The choice for short golf breaks and golfing vacations makes Inverness an ideal base for golfing holidays of all types.

Inverness Golf Club - an 18 hole, 69 par, parkland golf course - described by golfing writer and expert Allan Ferguson as one of Scotland’s best courses.

Castle Stuart Golf Club - Opened in 2008 and situated only 7 miles from Inverness near the Airport this course has the potential to be one of the great courses.

Torvean Golf Club - a well maintained, 18 hole, parkland golf course, located on the outskirts of Inverness.

Loch Ness Golf Course (Fairways) - Fairways is one of the few facilities in Scotland with a full-size practice area maintained, like the rest of the course, in superb condition. Inverness’s newest 18 hole course.

Nairn Dunbar - this world famous championship links course is just 16 miles from Inverness. The highly rated course represents a formidable challenge with its gorse and whin lined fairways.

Nairn Golf Club - 16 miles from Inverness. Nestling on the shores of the Moray Firth this traditional Scottish links course was created from a Highland wilderness of gorse and heather, and tests the talents of professional and amateur alike. Founded in 1887, it is now one of the best courses in Scotland, and has hosted a large number of important championships.

Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club - 14 miles from Inverness. Course architect James Braid's remarkable achievement in designing 18 challenging holes within the narrow Chanonry peninsula is instantly obvious and admired by first-time visitors. Modern-day golf writers enthuse over the course layout and condition, with accolades such as 'a gem of a course by the sea' - 'the smallest but perhaps the brightest jewel in the Highlands' golfing crown'.

Muir of Ord Golf Club - 14 miles from Inverness. Muir of Ord is a typical heathland/moorland course which has steadily improved and lengthened throughout the years.

Strathpeffer Golf Club - 21 miles from Inverness. Arguably, the most scenic golf course in the North of Scotland. The drive on the first hole from tee to green features the longest drop on any course in Scotland.

Alness Golf Club - 21 miles from Inverness. This beautifully situated 18 hole golf course is probably one of the "Best Kept Secrets of the Highlands". The Club offers a warm welcome to both beginners and seasoned players alike and is open to visitors all year round. Boat of Garten Golf Club - 30 miles from Inverness. Designed by one of the grand-masters of golf course architecture, James Braid (1870-1950), “The Boat” is set alongside the River Spey in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, only 10 minutes drive from the bustling village of Aviemore. The course is not only renowned as a demanding test of sporting skill but also as a magnificent setting for the game.
