It is situated on the beachfront in the small town of Leven in Fife and is within walking distance of three public golf courses, with St. Andrews only 20 minutes away, Carnoustie 60 minutes away and Gleneagles 90 minutes away by car. As well, it is located within 200 metres of a pedestrian mall and has uninterrupted sea views and access to the beach.

It is a semi-detached three-bedroom cottage with one full bathroom with shower, a separate toilet with wash basin, completely modernised facilities, superior furnishings, TV, gas-fired central heating and a solarium. All of the front rooms have uninterrupted views across the six-mile wide estuary and the 150 foot front garden is fully enclosed with a large patio and off-street parking for up to three cars.

 

It is ideal for the golfers and families with young children who need safe play space, who like to walk to shops, go for a meal, get to a bank, liquor store or just want to wander through a small Scottish town. As well, there are endless opportunities for longer walks along the beach and along the famous Fife Coastal Path, which passes close to the cottage.

 

It is also the ideal base for golfers as there are some thirty local courses within thirty minutes drive, most of which are open year round. It is an excellent choice for any small group of golfers or golfing couples looking for a week's accommodation or a short break.

About the Town of Leven

Leven is a small town with a pedestrian mall comprising over 50 stores (Banks, Restaurants, Pubs, Bakers, grocery stores, and lots of small specialty shops). It is situated on the East coast of Fife between the picturesque East Neuk fishing villages on one side and the main towns of Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes on the other. The town is also served by excellent bus services to Edinburgh, Dundee, Glasgow and St. Andrews from its own bus terminus 200 metres from the cottage. Leven has a pleasant promenade and beach area, where Kerrera Cottage is situated. You can walk along the beach and the Fife Coastal Path to villages in the East Neuk.

 

Two golf courses are within a 5-minute walk along the Promenade and some thirty other golf courses such as Lundin Links within a 10 minute drive and St Andrews only 20 minutes away.

 

Leven Links Golf Club

Founded in 1820, this is Scottish links golf at its very best; several blind shots, numerous hazards and rolling fairways with unexpected bumps. The sea is visible form almost every hole, something which any true links course should encompass. The front nine is a test of your patience and fortitude while the back nine, especially the closing stretch of holes, requires careful course management and pinpoint accuracy.

 

Scoonie Golf Club

Scoonie Golf Club is situated in the seaside town of Leven in the Kingdom of Fife. It is a picturesque parkland course about 15 miles from the famous Old Course in St.Andrews and enjoys panoramic views to the north over farmland and hills and to the south over the beautiful Forth estuary .

 

Thornton Golf Club

The course provides a challenge for the serious golfer and a real test for those who tend to hook and equally offers a pleasant golfing experience for all. The course has a testing finishing five holes which hold your attention to the very end. Here, the River Ore comes into play with the par three, 14th 'Burn' hole a particular feature

 

Lundin Links

Fine links fairways and excellent greens have ensured that it has been regularly selected as a final qualifying golf course for the Open Championship. Narrow fairways, bunkers, burns, and ever-changing winds guarantee a testing but rewarding golfing experience.

 

Balbirnie Park Golf Club

Situated in Markinch near Glenrothes and set within 140 acres of superb woodland, this beautiful layout opened in 1983 and, with a par of 71 and measuring 6,300 yards from the men's tees, is a good challenge for golfers of all abilities

 

Ladybank Golf Club

A heathland course of Championship status (Par 71) set amongst heather, pine trees and silver birch. The Championship course (6754 yards) has two loops of nine holes - visitors generally use the blue course (6299 yards).
