GOLF:
Carnwath Golf Course 3 miles
Carnwath Golf Club was founded in 1907 on a piece of land called Gallow Hill, situated to the west of the village of Carnwath. The 9 hole course was laid out by Mr W, Auchterlonie of St Andrew's and opened by Lady Lockhart, the wife of Sir Simon M Lockhart, Honorary President of the club and laird of the estates, on 29th June 1907. The course was extended to 18 holes in May 1922 and by 1936 was visited by more than 3000 golfers annually. With the acquisition of a further 20 acres south of the course, it's layout was again redesigned by G M Clark, club champion, and the new layout opened in July 1963.

Lanark Golf Club
Originally laid out by Tom Morris and later refined by James Braid, Lanark is renowned for it's smooth fast greens, natural moorland fairways, and beautiful scenery. The course is built on a substrate of glacial sands, providing the unique feeling of tackling a Scottish links course at 600 feet above sea level. Variously described in golfing publications as a hidden gem and a geological marvel, at 6,428 yards from the Championship tees, the par of 70 can be a real test to any golfer, especially when the prevailing wind blows.

The Kames Country Club - Mouse valley Golf Course 3 miles
Mouse Valley course is a championship course and currently is one of the longest courses in Lanarkshire standing at 6650 yards from the black tee's. Each hole is unique and you will not find two holes the same. The 13th stands at 553 yards and for the big hitters its two big strikes to get home but we also have a par 3 only 95 yards long, but be aware its called "oh dear".
The shorter 18 hole Kames Course was added in 1999/2000. It is an interesting and demanding small course with small contoured greens demanding accurate mid to short iron play. The Kames Course was then made into another 18 hole course which was opened in 2006. The Kames Course is only 3500 yards long but don't be fooled into thinking it will be easy as missing the fairway or green could result in loosing your ball as all fairway's are tight.

Carluke Golf Course 6 miles
Carluke Golf Club, is situated in a rural setting above the Clyde Valley rich in history. Carluke is a long established Parkland Course within the boundaries of a former country estate. The course has had considerable improvements over the past few years, challenging the low handicapper, while being fair to the less gifted player. Although, good course management would be beneficial. Many of the holes demand a great deal of respect, "Glenburn" the 11th, a par 3, and "Hill of Hope" the 12th, a par 4, have been left in many golfers minds for one reason or another.
