Quinta das Alfaias is located 6 kms from Vila do Conde and 20 kms from Oporto and not more than 12 km to the international airport of Oporto. Only 5 kms are the well known beaches of Mindelo or Vila Chã ( blue flag ) and several restaurants that offer the best seafood or fish of this region. Tennis courts and horse riding are to be found nearby.

Quinta da Barca gentle design demands some alert game strategy. Even as it stands, Quinta da Barca is a long golf course, with four par 4 holes that make it an adequate challenge to keep golfers on their toes. Clube de Golfe de Miramar

The historic Miramar golf course was recently altered under the supervision of Howard Swan, who redesigned the original 1934 layout produced by Mackenzie Ross. Its nine holes, some of whose tees are situated on the top of sand dunes, are almost all accompanied by the typical ocean views of Portugal's northern coastline.
