Quinta da Bela Vista Hotel for Golf Holidays in Madeira
Quinta da Bela Vista Hotel near to Palheiro Golf Club and Santo da Serra Golf Club providing accommodation for golf holidays and golf breaks in Madeira.
Quinta da Bela Vista is a member of the Great Hotels of the World, a collection of the world's finest luxury hotels.
This five-star Quinta – or Portuguese manor house – is secluded between mountains and sea, and enveloped in luxurious gardens with sweeping views of the bay. For those seeking peace, tranquillity and an exclusive atmosphere during their stay in Madeira, a Quinta is the perfect choice. Being the first five-star Quinta in Madeira to host guests, this 158-year-old manor house has been transformed into a wonderful hotel with fine paintings and beautiful antique furniture. It is conveniently situated on a hillside on the north-west outskirts of Funchal, just over a mile from the city centre. The 20,000sq m gardens feature towering trees and many exotic species of plants. Attention to detail, committed staff, genuine hospitality and natural surroundings ensure that guests will have a stylish break.
The complex includes two restaurants, known in the region for their first-class cuisine. A full European breakfast and a table d’hôte menu are served in the Avista Navios restaurant. À la carte is offered in Casa Mãe – an 1844 manor house – where antiques, tapestries, woodwork and exquisite cuisine create a feast for the eyes and palate.
There are 89 guest rooms, furnished to the highest standards, all offering spectacular views and marble bathrooms. Private indoor banqueting facilities for up to 130 people and outdoor function areas are available, overlooking the gardens, mountains, bay and ocean. All provide a spectacular setting for corporate, incentive and social events.
Meeting facilities include overhead projectors, screens, lecterns, flip charts, sound systems and podiums. Business centre facilities are free of charge for hotel guests.
Golf enthusiasts will be pleased to know that there are two superb courses close to the hotel, where guests enjoy discounted green fees. Back onsite, leisure facilities include a small fitness room with jacuzzi and sauna, heated swimming pool, tennis courts, billiards room and library.
Quinta da Bela Vista is committed to fulfilling the individual needs of every group, creating just the right ambience for a successful event. Touring the diverse region is highly recommended. Nature walks follow the winding course of the ‘levadas’ - irrigation canals built by early natives - and include scenic views of ‘Laurissilva’ forest, classified by UNESCO in 1999 as World Natural Heritage. Head to Pico do Areiro with a picnic lunch provided by the hotel, and enjoy the breathtaking views as well as a hike to the highest peak of Pico Ruivo, 1,861 metres high. Groups can explore the historic towns, churches and museums of the island including the Museum of Sacred Art, Madeira Wine Museum and the Botanical Gardens. Visit a Madeira Wine Cellar in Funchal to discover how the drink is grown and blended. Water sports are abundant on the island and a magnificent island cruise is ideal for groups.
Vista’s boat can be chartered by guests.
Palheiro Golf Club is situated on a coastal ridge among magnificent trees, shrubs and formal gardens and makes good use of the hills, ridges and deep valleys of the Palheiro estate. We reckon it's the ideal holiday golf course - not too long or too difficult for average golfers, but still providing good players with a genuine test of skill and accuracy. Highlights include the visually stunning and technically challenging par 3 13th, where you must hit over a large ravine, and the dogleg par 5 18th, which offers long hitters the chance to reach in two for a memorable finish.
