East Allington is just three miles from the market town of Kingsbridge which lies at the head of the Kingsbridge/Salcombe Estuary and has been the principal market town of the region since 962AD.

It is said to have derived its name from a Saxon king when on reaching Dodbrooke during his travels, was unable to cross the stream, so a volunteer from a local family carried the king across the Dod on his back.

Kingsbridge to this day remains the capital of the South Hams and offers an assortment of things to do and see, including an excellent range of shops. Here you can buy some first rate quality clothes and there are several shops with a creative and artistic flair, a large supermarket and there are also some outstanding restaurants, plus of course several pubs, some being waterside

Bunkers Farm House, sleeps 5.
This is a stone built, detached, former farmhouse, originally built in the early 19th Century. Now it is a spacious and stylishly decorated country house, located on the edge of East Allington, a picturesque South Hams village. Bunkers has an impressive arched front entrance and overlooks fields and open countryside with a popular 'olde worlde' village inn, renowned for its warm welcome and good food, close by.

This a charming converted barn set in the beautiful grounds of Higher Coombe Farm tucked away in an idyllic peaceful valley nestling amongst tall trees with several fish and wildlife ponds. Secluded and private, whilst a short drive to the bustle of Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Dartmouth and Totnes, makes this non -working farm a haven for walkers, wildlife enthusiasts and families.  Children will love the special play areas, the games room and the large well fenced gardens. Pond Cottage is very pet friendly and dogs are most welcome! It is a fantastic spot for those special friends, as the spacious gardens are ideal and there are facilities available at a nominal charge for some dogs to be left during the day.

Wrangaton Golf Club
Our course is unique - 9 moorland and 9 parkland holes.  It is very much a course of two halves and there is nothing else like it in Devon!  Wrangaton started in 1895 when a 9 hole golf course was established on the southern slopes of Dartmoor.  An additional 9 holes were added in 1988, and Donald Steel, designer of the world famous Loch Lomond golf course, laid out these parkland holes.
