The three properties at Bowood Farm, adjoining the farmhouse, are within the farm's south facing courtyard and set amongst peaceful open countryside with fine views. These attractive cottages have all been restored and renovated each retaining it's own character. They are ideally located for touring the North Devon and Cornish coastline. For the energetic it is only two miles from the dramatic coastal path and quayside of Bideford, with tennis, golf and indoor swimming; for the children Westward Ho! with its superb sandy beach is just 3 miles away ; for the gardening enthusiast Rosemoor R.H.S. is a mere 10 miles and for walkers and riders Exmoor beckons from 19 miles. The added attractions of Atlantic Village, Clovelly and The Big Sheep are all close by. Half a mile stroll brings you to the village with church, post office and thatched pub.

Crooked Lake Cottage
This enchanting detached, part 17th century, stone cottage was once given as a wedding gift to a young bride - this is easy to imagine, as it has pretty shutters with cut-out heart shapes, a most attractive garden complete with a babbling stream and little bridges, and inviting beamed and delightfully furnished rooms. If you are lucky you might spy the resident badger or even an otter in the garden. Set in a wooded valley alongside a road that leads to the fishing port of Bideford (6 miles) and the spectacular north coast for walking, cycling, golf or simply enjoying the wide expanses of endless sandy beaches; the cottage is a perfect rural idyll from which to explore this lovely area.

Old Shippon sleeps 4
This remarkable stone and cob building, part of Beara Farm, is set in the most peaceful and secluded countryside imaginable and has been renovated to an extremely high standard from the original "Old Shippon" transforming it into the quaint, enchanting and characterful cottage it is today. With original oak beams, flagstone floors with rugs, stripped pine doors, unusual light fixtures and spacious upstairs living area, ensures that it provides a charming, comfortable, immaculate and unusual property in which to spend a holiday in a lovely rural setting. The Old Shippon is furnished in a most appealing farmhouse style and includes some old farming artefacts that decorate the bright white walls. Surrounded by beautiful, rolling countryside gives one the feeling of being miles away from anywhere, but it is actually only a short distance from the North Devon coast and resorts of Westward Ho! and Instow, making it an excellent base from which to walk and explore, or drive to the many activities and picturesque villages that are located in this special part of Devon.

Royal Northern Devon Golf Club
The course stretches out to over 7,000 yards from the championship tees (used for the West of England Championship – one of the top amateur events in the calendar), although most will agree that it’s a suitably stiff test at 6,650 yards, especially when the wind blows. Even with today’s modern equipment a par score for the top scratch players is never easy.

It is home to many natural hazards that will have you scratching your head without frustrating you to the point of giving in. It also includes water on several holes so make sure you know and use your irons well or you could end up reaching for one of the extra balls in your bag

Great Torrington Golf Club
You will find our golf course is located in one of the prettiest parts of North Devon, with some truly spectacular views, yet we are only 5 minutes from the centre of Great Torrington. The golf course is a true challenge even to the most experienced and skilful players - it is a par 64, 9 hole course, with very different tee positions for the second nine giving it a markedly different character.
