Visit Hartland Abbey and come upon the cobbled cliff side 'film set' village of Clovelly; continue on to the long sandy beach at Westward Ho!, the fascinating old harbour towns of Barnstaple and Bideford, both steeped in history and standing in traditional rivalry at the mouths of the rivers Taw and Torridge with Lundy Island beyond. 'The land of two rivers' can be explored on foot or bike along the 80 mile 'Tarka Trail' Coastal Path and Cycle way that follows the journeys in the novel of Tarka the Otter.

Just a quarter of a mile from the sea up a quiet country lane, this 17th century cottage and adjoining neighbour overlook an attractive mature garden and peaceful countryside. The Victorian harbour town of Ilfracombe is a mile distant, and the best sandy beaches only 5 miles. The picturesque cliff top path at Hele Bay with pub and shops and a country bus route, is within easy walking distance, with a golf course half a mile. Hele beach has been awarded the Encams Rural Beach Flag. This is a very well placed, comfortable, double glazed cottage from which the north Devon coast can be enjoyed.
Accommodation: Steps lead down from garden gate to small courtyard and front door to small hallway. The sitting/dining room has comfortable sofa and chairs, TV, dining table with seating for four, and attractive garden views. The kitchen is divided from the living room by the stairs and has a gas cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave and washing machine. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one twin bedded room with 3ft beds that clip together to form a large double and one single room (3ft bed) with a further 'Z' bed provided. The bathroom has bath with shower over, basin and WC.
Outside: There is an attractive fully enclosed garden with steps down to small courtyard and a further shared garden with lawns and borders, pretty window boxes and hanging baskets. Garden furniture and barbecue is supplied.

Ilfracombe Golf Club
The course is situated 1 mile east of Ilfracombe towards Combe Martin on the magnificent North Devon coastline and offers spectacular views along the coast and across the Bristol Channel to South Wales. The 18 hole course is well maintained throughout the year and although not the longest, the undulations and prevailing South Westerlys will still offer up a challenge to golfers of all abilities. Whilst visiting why not treat yourself to a buggy from the Pro Shop and ride around in style.
Saunton Sands Golf Club
Established in 1897 Saunton has a long history, voted 25th in the top 100 courses in the British Isles, the East course should not be missed when visiting the Southwest. West Links Course - 18 hole 6708yds Par 71. East Links Course - 18 hole par 73
Royal North Devon/Westward Ho Golf Club
The course stretches out to over 7,000 yards from the championship tees (used for the West of England Championship – one of the top amateur events in the calendar), although most will agree that it’s a suitably stiff test at 6,650 yards, especially when the wind blows. Even with today’s modern equipment a par score for the top scratch players is never easy.
