The golf course was embedded in the still natural mountainous landscape. The 9-hole course offers several variations and a wonderful view on the surroundings. Font Romeu
Located in the heart of the Catalan Pyrenees on the Cerdagne Plateau, Font-Romeu offers stunning views over the surrounding mountains into Spain and Andorra. In 1903 there existed only two houses here but by the late 1950's the village had ascended into one of the most popular winter sport stations holding the reputation as the sunniest ski resort in France with a warming 3,000 hours of sunshine every year. Also famed for its pure air quality (many Olympic athletes train here) Font Romeu is an ideal location for a health conscious, activity based holiday.

Although the sun makes the lunch time break all the more pleasurable it does not spoil the skiing. The linked ski domain of Font-Romeu / Pyrenees 2000 is one of the best equipped in Europe where 500 snow canons guarantee snow every winter. The vast, unspoilt ski area provides 54km of downhill skiing that vary from easy greens to tough blacks making this an ideal destination for all ability levels. This is also a major cross country ski centre with over 100km of marked trails.

There are numerous shops, restaurants, a bowling alley, cinema, ice rink and swimming-pool for you and your family’s relaxation. For revellers there are lively music bars, the casino and a night club to ensure the partying continues well into the wee hours.

Once the snow has melted and the summer sun has brought out the breathtaking Pyrenean flora the many marked hiking trails and beautiful scenery make Font-Romeu an idyllic summer mountain retreat for walkers and cyclists. In fact, being only 100km from the Mediterranean beaches around Perpignan you can enjoy a rewarding active holiday in the clean fresh mountain air and still get your fix of sun, sand and sea.

After all that exercise you deserve a treat so why not take a trip to one of the hot springs in open-air pools at the nearby spa villages of St Thomas, Llo or Dorres.
