St. Ferreol is located in the sunny south-west part of France in the Herault department of the Languedoc region. Our excellent location between the Mediterranean sea and the mountains means you have a a huge variety of activities on your doorstep for all the family, and with over 325 days of sunshine you can explore the region all year round !

 

If you enjoy golf, horse-riding, tennis, fishing, canoeing or simply soaking up the sun on the glorious Mediterranean beaches, all are within close proximity.

 

With 6 tastefully restored villas, St. Ferreol offers charming, self-catering villas for holiday rental throughout the year. Each villa offers a unique blend of traditional Languedoc character coupled with all the luxurious comforts of home.

 

Here you will find plenty of space to relax, unwind and feel all those stresses just melt away… For couples and families alike, this is an ideal location to do as little or as much as you want.

There are 6 fully independent villas attached in different ways around the Domaine’s courtyard. Each villa has its own private entrance and sundrenched garden or garden area with a BBQ, garden table and chairs and umbrella, ideal for al fresco dining in the long summer evenings.

 

Careful attention has been taken to restore and retain original features in each property, from the heavily beamed ceilings to exposed stone walls. Typical examples are a vast ancient Catalan fireplace and a traditional Languedocian oak & terracotta tiled floor.

 

The interiors throughout are cool and spacious furnished with antique and country furniture with comfortable couches and chairs in a rustic French Manor House style which captures the local colour and ambience. Each living room has French doors opening out onto private gardens which create a light and pleasant atmosphere.

 

Each villa is fully equipped with a fulll sized oven and hob, extractor hood, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, TV and DVD player. The villas have log burning fires and / or central heating for those cooler evenings.

 

Over an acre of park provides an oasis of tranquillity, with lush green lawns and mature oaks and plantains. Tucked away in the midst is a petite private chapel underneath which lies a magical grotto with its own fresh spring source.

 

There is also a large fish pond brimming with goldfish and coy carp . Feeding time is a great favourite with the children , and a wonderful way of using up that leftover French bread !

 

For your relaxation there is a large swimming pool ( 13 x 6 m ) with Roman end steps, set in an acre of lawns, mature trees and parkland. It is bordered by a century old wall and a small canal over which there are panoramic views down to the river.

Services:

Mouth-watering fresh bread, croissants, pain au chocolat and patisseries are delivered daily to your doorstep by our local Adissan baker – just listen out for the honking horn in the mornings and make sure you are first in the queue !

 

For late arrivals we can offer a “ basics “ shopping facility – just let us know what you need to tide you over and we will have your goodies waiting for you when you arrive.

 

Information about local wines and vineyards upon request. Wine tastings in our Cave of a selection of our and other fine wines in the region. Training in wine tasting provided. Visits to vineyards arranged and accompanied if required.

 

A wonderful location from which to discover the surrounding region from the Mediterranean beaches around Sete, Agde , Marseillan and Valros to the historic cities of Montpellier, Beziers, Nimes, Carcassonne and Aigues Mortes.

 

Golf
There are at least 6 golf courses to choose from in the region, the closest being at St. Thomas www.golfsaintthomas.com set in typically Mediterranean scenery in the still wild garrigue. This golf course has its own particular personality to interest all levels from the beginner to the very experienced, with woods and hills with stretches of water and more classical fairways. At Cap d’Agde  you will find a particularly inventive 18 hole course designed by Ronald Fream, one of the world’s greatest golf course designers, offering a colourful landscape accompanied by the exquisite fragrance of rosemary and thyme.
