On the edge of a lovely Basque village from the 17th century, you will be happy to experience the calm beauthy of our lovely house with fantastic views of the Pyrénées, and the changing colours of the day.   A large swimming pool with a terrace bordered by roses, olive trees and bay trees awaits you,  Donkeys braying in the field next door or you can wak in the woods,  If you are feeling stressed out then 10 minutes on our large trampoline will help you to relax.   Si vous êtes encore stressé, dix minutes de sauts sur le grand trampoline vous remettront en forme !

 

Discover the many local specialities with their regional flavour. Enjoy quality products, axoa, piperade, duck confit, foie gras, plancha grilled fish, ewe milk cheeses and the delicious Basque cake.

 

Accommodation:

2 suites in owner's house:  the suite Hortensia is composed of one sitting room with a sofa and a bureau and armchairs and the second room is a bedroom with a bed (2m x 2m) and a bathroom.

 

Hortensia : On the ground floor with a splendid view of the Pyrénées and just few meters away from the swimming pool.  The first bedroom has two beds 9O cm width, 1 m 90 long.  This bedroom has communicating doors with another bedroom that has a large double bed of 2m width and length.  Wall mounted LCD flat screen television.  

 

Laurier rose : 1st floor : 1 bedroom with 2 beds of 90 cm x 1m90, communicating with another bedroom with two beds of  90cm x 1m90, bathroom with wc. Wifi for computers.

Biarritz airport is just 15 minutes away from us and we can come to get you or come to get you from the train station at Bayonne which is just 6kms away.  

 

There are fantastic walks from our house either with or without a guide and fantastic walks in the mountains.  

Possiblity of dinner on request.  We can also supply a chauffeur for you.  We are very near many restaurants, luxurious, regional [cheap or expensive] but those we recommend are of excellent quality.

 

We can also arrange short trips to Spain for you, Madrid is 5 hours away in a car or 3 hours by plane [door to door].  There is also a tennis club at Saint Pierre d'Irube 5 kms away.

Makila Golf Course
Situated just outside Bayonne, the Makila Golf Club is a course open all year round with 18 holes par 72 over 6176 m. Surrounded by beautiful oak trees and arranged in vast spaces, it offers large fairways and all the holes are different from one another. American architect Rocky Roquemore was able to create a harmonious, stylised structure. The imposing natural, hilly and wooded site allows players of all levels to feel at ease.

 

Golf Arcangues
The 72 par course, designed by the American architect Ronald Fream, spreading over 198 acres of oak trees and meadows around the village and the Chateau, winds away from the clubhouse to the South before curving to the North around the chateau before reappearing from the East to finish on the 18th just below the Clubhouse terrace.

Golf Biarritz Le Phare
It looks like being an easy course, which does not require any important physical efforts, but it’s really not. Its difficulty lies in his technicality and it is not that easy to « score ». 70 bunkers are there to remind us, if necessary is, that golf is, above all, a reflection and shrewdness affair.

Chiberta is one of the great French examples of a links course, designed by the legendary Tom Simpson. This course is one of the most rewarding courses in France, and provides a wonderful day of golf to all who play on it. The original design has been preserved, although the wilder features have been smoothed away by automatic sprinklers and a number of 'improvements' that are not quite as inspired as we might have hoped.

Chantaco Golf Course - 6294 yards par 70
Chantaco is one of the most celebrated courses on the Basque coast thanks to its delightful charm, atmosphere and sporting tradition, all nurtured by the Lacoste family. Although rather hilly, the most tiring thing about Chantaco golf course is not the walking but trying to avoid the traps.

 

Other golf courses within 20mins to 45 minutes include Hossegor Golf Course, Seignosse Golf Course, Ilbarritz Golf and San Sebastian.
