Swell Group Holiday Apartment Rental near Thorpeness Golf Club, Suffolk, England
Holiday Apartment rental in Thorpeness Suffolk, near Thorpeness Golf Course and Aldeburgh Golf Club providing self catering accommodation for golf breaks in Suffolk and self catering golf holidays in England.
Originally part of an Edwardian Country Club, we know you are going to like our seaside apartment. Decorated in nautical blues and sunshine yellows, it's comfortable and cheery. It's in a great location, just one minute from the beach, with all important sea views. Right next to it are gardens and both grass and hard tennis courts.
Thorpeness is a tonic. A haven of light and sea for those who feel a little frazzled around the edges.
The apartment has a 'New England/Martha's vineyard' look and has had a new handmade kitchen, top end appliances, new bathroom and has an easy breezy feel. Ralph Lauren fabrics give it a fresh beachy look but it cosies up well at night. Pure Enid Blyton meets Cape Cod in Summer (think picnics, beach barbecues, tennis, Pimms, endless exploring of the idyllic countryside). In Winter it's glorious often bright, quiet and there is nothing better than being in the cosy flat with the stormy sea outside.
The apartment is on the ground floor and is fully equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, TV, CD, video, books, games, DVDs, tennis racquets, fishing nets and all manner of things for those looking for a wonderful seaside retreat.
Kitchen facilities:
Neff twin oven 4 ring Neff induction hob : Neff Dishwasher: Neff Washer/dryer: Microwave: Fridge/freezer: Belfast Sink: Solid Granite worktops: Pots, pans, crockery, glassware, utensils
There is one double and one twin room. There is a family bathroom and a WC.
There is no more perfect winter lunch than salty fish and chips from the award-winning Aldeburgh chip shop eaten on the beach or followed by some window shopping. For those wishing to blow way the cobwebs, this great food county, with its fresh fish from the local small fishing boats, freshly dug up local vegetables, and even the award-winning Bacchus and delicious strawberries and cream rosé wines from Shawsgate Vineyard a few miles away, is a perfect find. No buckets, no spades and certainly no candy floss on this beach directly outside the apartment.
To the rear there are grass and hard tennis courts and a garden. The apartment is part of an Edwardian country club and there are functions on some weekend nights in the main building. You can check before you book but the noise is normally nothing that a few glasses of Pinot Noir can't cure. Parking is directly outside. Once people have found this secret, tasteful, New England of England they return again and again and this is one of our favourite properties.

Thorpeness Golf Club
Set amongst the Suffolk coastal heathland, the golf course offers a tough challenge for all levels of player. Designed by James Braid in 1922, this Suffolk golf course winds through silver birch, pine trees, gorse and heather and was described by the Sunday Telegraph Golfing Guide as "Reminiscent of the inland glories of Sunningdale and Woodhall Spa".

Aldeburgh Golf Club
The original Aldeburgh Golf Club course was designed in 1884 by John Thompson from Royal Wimbledon and Open champion Willie Fernie from Felixstowe and later modified by J.H. Taylor and Willie Park Junior. Taylor’s bunkers are visible today, recognisable by their sweeping banks which curve both vertically and horizontally. The new heathland course was officially opened in 1908 and has hardly changed since. There are some long holes to tempt the big hitter but plenty of holes that require careful attention. There is also a smaller nine-hole course.
