Let us welcome you to our comfortable, modern Bed & Breakfast accommodation at Redcastle on the Inishowen peninsula of Donegal in the North West of Ireland, only 3 kms from Moville. It is on the Inishowen peninsula that you will find Malin Head, Ireland's most northerly point. On the way to Malin Head there are fine sandy beaches, beautiful scenery and an area steeped in history.

 

Inishowen Lodge enjoys panoramic views over Lough Foyle, and Moville’s town centre with local shops, restaurants and traditional Irish pubs is a 5 minute drive. A little further along the coast is the fishing village of Greencastle and the Blue Flag sandy beach of Stroove. The Greencastle Ferry to Magilligan provides direct access to the famous North Antrim Coast, the Giant’s Causeway and Carrick-a-rede rope bridge. The historic walled City of Derry is only a 25 minute drive from Redcastle. In Derry you will find many historical attractions, very good restaurants, bars, the Millennium Forum theatre and excellent shopping. Take the oportunity to visit the newly opened Peace Bridge across the Foyle. Inishowen Lodge provides a superb base from which to travel to these attractions, making our 3 night breaks very popular.

Inishowen Lodge has three spacious guest bedrooms, all with uninterrupted views over Lough Foyle. Each bedroom has its own private shower room and television. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided with home made cookies. Guests can enjoy a choice of cooked breakfast in our bright and airy sun room or on the patio (weather permitting!) This also provides a very pleasant area to sit and enjoy the wonderful view. In the winter our guest sitting room has a welcoming log fire.

 

We have a lifelong knowledge of the local area and are delighted to share this with our guests. City of Derry Airport is only a 30 minute drive from Inishowen lodge. Ryanair flies direct from many UK airports. Car hire available from airport. Ideal for weekend break in conjunction with our 3 night special.

Choice of cooked breakfast is served each morning between 8.00 and 10.00 in the bright attractive sun room.

 

Rooms : Our accommodation consists of three spacious comfortable bedrooms, furnished to a high standard and each with its own private shower room. Each room can be used as double, triple or family room. There are cots and high chairs available.

We are situated 2 miles from Moville and 16 miles from Derry. The house is ½ mile off the main road, giving peace and quiet, with spectacular views over Lough Foyle.

Redcastle Golf Course: Golfers are in for a treat in our own 9-hole parkland golf course. Enjoy some of the most breath taking views in the world which contours around Lough Foyle. The magnificent parkland fairways are dotted with trees and strategically placed traps.

 

Greencastle Golf Club is a beautiful 18 hole links course which nestles in the idyllic surrounds of the Inishowen Peninsula. The course is on the banks of, and superb views across, Lough Foyle. It is based in the north of the Inishowen peninsula in County Donegal.

 

Ballyliffin Golf Course consists of two outstanding, contrasting links courses and 36 wonderful holes make up one of the finest golf resorts to be found anywhere in the world. The Old Links undulates in the glory of its natural terrain, presenting an immensely enjoyable challenge to every golfer. The new Glashedy Links is fashioned around the incredible dunes, and is already notorious for its peat riveted bunkers with expansive panoramic views of countryside, coastline and ocean savoured by these magnificent links course will not easily be forgotten.

 

Buncrana Golf Club : A secret delight and one of the lesser known golf clubs in the area, Buncrana Golf Club is a superb seaside 9 hole links course, offering superb views all around. The course is actually situated overlooking the beautiful 'White Strand' on the shores of the Lough Swilly and offers a challenging round of golf to players of all handicaps.

 

Royal Portrush Golf Club is home to one of the best and most challenging links golf courses in the world, the Dunluce Links, and the hidden gem, the Valley Links. The only club in Ireland to have hosted The Open Championship, Royal Portrush is a members’ club which welcomes visitors all year round to face the challenges of its courses and to brave the testing condition
