Podere Borgaruccio farm is situated at 1 Km away from Peccioli, a medieval village in Valdera, Tuscany, along the panoramic “Route of Wine” leading to Fabbrica, through hills frescoed with olive groves and vineyards. Peccioli lies a short distance from the main art cities in Tuscany (Firenze, Pisa, Volterra, San Gimignano) and only 20 Km away from the Pisa airport.

Podere Borgaruccio was known as early as the beginning of nineteenth century, as witnessed by the records extant in the “Catasto Leopoldino”. The farm was most likely built by some friars, St Colomban’s followers, who initiated the cultivation of the homonymous vineyards in Peccioli. Some of those vineyards are still being cultivated in the farm. In the year 2006 Podere Borgaruccio was in serious state of neglect and Stefano and Claudia, the present owners, started a major re-qualification of the farm in order to innovate the wine-making techniques, turn the agricultural farming to organic and provide hospitality in new welcoming estates.

The vineyards of Podere Borgaruccio are approximately 150 m. slm with excellent east-west exposure and ampelographic composition typical of Chianti d.o.c.g.: predominantly Sangiovese, and small parts of Ciliegiolo, Canaiolo and Colorino red vineyards. The white vineyards are Malvasia and Trebbiano. The terrain is predominantly sandy silt and very rich.

The farm “Podere Borgaruccio” covers an area of 12 hectares and has returned to new life after the accurate work of restructuring and requalification initiated by Claudia and Stefano.

Borgaruccio is a tiny village gently nestled on the crest of a hill which overlooks the Valdera valley and dominates the river ERA with its suggestive lagoon landscape, its luxuriant flora and rich fauna. A wide and touching panorama opens in front of the two housing estates and reaches the vineyards, the olive groves, framed by tall and ancient cypresses.

The two houses, in accord with the tradition of their architecture, show off roofs with beams and rafters, brick tiles and old stone and brick walls. The farm consists of four bedrooms with bathrooms and showers; an apartment with a cooking place, two bedrooms, a bathroom with shower; a suite on the last two floors of the ancient tower.

The guest will receive a warm and familiar welcome in a cosy and alluring atmosphere. The tasty and various cuisine will match the peace and quietness of the landscape and the warmth of Tuscan hospitality . Abundant breakfast with all the products of the farm, daily fresh eggs, any sort of cheese, fresh fruit, home-made cakes, home-made jam.

There will be suggestive dinners by candlelight, with the colors of the countryside fading in the sunset.

Tasting of the wines of the farm in the cellar matching enogastronomic routes, able to propose a product which is representative of its land, out of the global homologation of tastes. A valid alternative to the usual and mass routes, a moment of relaxation far away from the frantic rhythm of daily life.

The farm is also endowed with a swimming pool overlooking the vineyards, a wellness place with sauna, aromatherapy, chromoterapy and hydromassage with special personal beauty treatments on demand.

The farm lies in a strategic area with many historic centers within short driving distance, such as Volterra, San Gimignano, Pisa, Thermal cities such as Casciana Terme, luxurious golf courses such as Castelfalfi, Peccioli surroundings and other places which may disclose unexpected surprises.

Golf Castelfalfi 15 minutes

18-hole and a 9-hole golf course and surrounding grounds have been laid out in the heart of Tuscany between Pisa and Florence. The golf courses are set in the 1,100 hectar grounds of the Castelfalfi Estate, consisting of a Borgo with Castello, vineyard and olive grove.

At the Mountain Course (par 72, 6,351 meters) both front and back nine begin and end south of where the clubhouse is located and are built so that golfers can experience the stunning views, no matter which nine they play first. Thanks to the existing woodland, the Mountain Course is structured so that, with few exceptions, one has the feeling of individuality on each fairway. The topography of the land, its incorporation into the landscape, the design of hazards, and the different orientation of each fairway give them an individual character and make them highly memorable.

The 9-hole Lake Course (par 37, 3,171 meters) begins and ends at the clubhouse as well. The Lake Course leads through the adjacent landscape to the south west in drawn-out loop, one which corresponds to the rolling hills of the cultivated Tuscan landscape. On this course the fairways are also individually designed and routed, so that each fairway has its own character and gives an individual impression.
