Chez Kelly is a Hip-Chic-Boutique hotel particuliere…in a chateau, appealing to discerning customers who enjoy a unique and discrete holiday experience in premium surroundings. Located in the famous 13th century “Chateau de Sauvin” bordering the Canal du Lateral, nearby the Garonne river and medieval town of Meilhan, the Chez Kelly concept is a mix of classic French and contemporary Scandinavian design.

Unlike other B+B offerings, hosts Brendan and Keld encourage guests to relax around the pool, play tennis, boules or billiards in our lounges, terraces and parklands enjoying “hotel like” daytime residency, without the maddening crowd. This is typified by the "New Zealand" friendly, casual style coupled with “Danish” reserve and respect for the privacy of our guests, making Chez Kelly your “home” for a holiday experience.

Chez Kelly has only 5 luxuriously appointed large double bedrooms, each with their private ensuite “designer” bathroom. Clean Scandinavian lines, luxurious linens and fresh cut flowers are typical hallmarks of our bedroom concepts. Tariffs vary with size and view. Taupo, the “Gite”, is fully equipped and can be configured for 1 or 2 couples. Rooms range from 95 - 130 Euros pr. night and the gite (4 pers.) 660 Euros pr. week.

Alhambra - Inspired by the Moorish palace of the same name, this room (20m2) features Arabic artwork and fuschia hot colours with a single bathroom and kingsize bed.

Iona - Rich reds symbolic of the passion of religion have been used to decorate this cosy room with french doors opening to the courtyard garden, Iona has single bathroom and queensize bed.

Birthe - Clean cool Scandinavian lines typify this hip room ) featuring prints by the contemporary Swedish artist, also has a double bathroom and kingsize bed.

Invergarry - Styled in black and white reflecting the stark contrast of the Scottish highlands, Invergarry is named after the ancestral seat of Brendan's family. This room ) features a double bathroom and kingsize bed.

Chatelain - Our largest room is a "suite" worthy of it's chateau owner's name, decorated in a southern hemisphere/African theme with a luxurious bath, shower and separate toilet, kingsize bed.

GITE (Taupo) - Situated in the newly renovated stables in the westwing of the chateau, this 90 m/2 selfcontained space provides perfect surroundings for a little familly or 1 or 2 couples. It has a doublebed (queensize) in the main livingroom and two single beds in the mezzanine.

The table d'hôtes

Breakfasts:  Our breakfast format is open and easy for you. We have a selection of the days market fresh fruits, breads, cereals and yoghurts served on the terrace of your choice at the time you want it, with fresh coffee, tea or juices
Lunch:  If you want to spend the day lounging by the pool we have a selection of home-made freshly prepared light snacks and salads. Picnic hampers are available for those taking biking, boating tours, or golfing please reserve the day before.
Dining format: On weekends and by request, we invite our guests to dine with us at our “table d’hotes”, a home cooked 3 course meal, when the weather is good this may also incorporate a “dinkum kiwi” barbeque.
Wines: We keep a carefully selected but small range of reasonably priced quality wines that we enjoy.

Activities : Activities more strenuous than lounging by the pool, listening to music, reading, drinking or eating can be accommodated. Our full size tennis court is available to guests, there’s boule and billiards, walks in the park or by the canal. We have bikes available with recommendations on “tours” and canoes for those that want to discover the canal. We are members of the local Graves et Sauternes Golf Course and can arrange golf there or at any of the 4 near-by courses.

Other “to do’s” :  There is really a lot to do in and around Meilhan; Golfing, Hiking and walking, Horse riding, kayaking and canoeing: Gourmet tourism for fine wines (St Emillion and Buzet wine areas are only 20 minutes away) and fois gras products from the “terroir”: Museums, churches and antiquities, including Bordeaux’s famous chateaux and medieval Bastide villages.

Golf des Graves et Sauternais Golf Club 18 holes par 72
The course is particularly interesting for its wide variety of holes, which run through the forest and around many water features. It alternates between long testing holes and more technically challenging shorter ones. This is a shady tree lined parkland course which makes it suitable for all year round play, a real treat for all standards of golfers.

Golf d'Albret
A genuine green haven in the heart of the Albret country, the Golf course is first and foremost remarkable for its undulating terrain, its track and the natural environment of its setting, dominating both exceptional views and at the same time forming the border with the Landes forest.

Barthe Golf Club, Tombeboeuf
Golf de Barthe is situated amongst beautiful countryside, the clubhouse and terrace overlook the 9 hole golf course, which is open 7 days a week for members and visitors.  9 Holes-2813m-PAR 36

Casteljaloux Golf Club
Situated on the edge of the Landaise forest and laid out in a magnificent setting with marvellous panoramic views of the nearby lake (Lac de Clarens) and chateau, Golf de Casteljaloux is a masterpiece among the great golf courses in France.  The 18 hole par 72 golf 5912 meters (6468 yards)  is partly laid out in a pine forest with undulating fairways and raised greens.
 
Chateau Vigiers Golf Course
Château des Vigiers forms the centrepiece of a spectacular 27 hole golf course designed by Donald Steel who is considered one of the very best "natural" golf course architects.  The original 18 hole golf course was opened in 1991 and is set amidst plum orchards, oak woods, lakes and vineyards. Just finished is a fantastic 9 hole course to integrate beautifully into the existing course. The three 9 hole loops now combine to form three diifferent 18 hole combination
