Nearby there are a choice of excellent restaurants, the Châteaux, picturesque villages and local produce markets, vineyards and cellars (Route des Vins), Bergerac's old quarters and boat trips on the Dordogne River. Sporting activities such as walking, golf, cycling and canoeing are popular.  Not forgetting the Périgord Noir which is only an hour's drive away and Bordeaux and its surrounding area (St Emilion at 40km).

Château des Vigiers is 20 minutes away, and in addition to other facilities, has three 9-hole courses and a 6-hole training course, designed by golf course architect Donald Steel, the Château itself playing its part as a superb backdrop to many of the views. 3 18-hole configurations are offered,  through vistas of plum trees, oak woods and vineyards. The course design promotes quick play and accessibility for higher handicaps, but the greens are often very quick indeed, and when the pins are placed just so, the greens sharpened a little, and the rough allowed to grow a bit, the course is a challenge for any golfer

 

Château les Merles is also about 20 minutes away, and is a smaller 45 acre estate with a challenging and compact 3,300 yard par 35 course tucked away on the edge of the beautiful Liorac forest and the Bergerac vineyards. They claim the best greens in the region.
