The Cottages have been lovingly restored around the courtyard of the beautiful 19th Century red sandstone steading with a thoughtfulness that combines luxury with practicality. The Cottages
Finnich Steading Cottages which are family owned and managed, lie hidden on the edge of the Loch Lomond National Park in beautiful rural surroundings on the private Finnich Country Estate. From the cottages there are uninterrupted views 13 miles to Ben Lomond, yet the pretty Stirlingshire villages of Drymen and Killearn are only 3 miles away.
The cottages have been created round the courtyard of the beautiful 19th Century red sandstone steading, which has recently undergone a total renovation programme. Each cottage has been rebuilt to the highest standards of convenience and comfort while retaining the character and features of the old buildings. In addition to the landscaped courtyard with its large communal games room, each cottage has an outdoor patio with views out over the woods and fields. There is ample parking available and a large grass play area.
Each cottage is beautifully furnished and equipped to the highest standard with large living areas with wooden floors, modern fully equipped kitchens, round dining tables and separate living areas with comfortable sofas and armchairs. All windows are double glazed with full length curtains or blinds and all are equipped with Sky TV, DVD, CD player and WiFi. Each unit has a separate central heating system with ample supplies of hot water for the luxuriously fitted bathrooms and showers. In the courtyard there is a shared laundry and drying room with ironing facilities.
Rowan Cottage
Rowan is a one bedroom cottage with a King Size bed and memory foam mattress. The light open plan living area with its fully equipped L shaped kitchen has a large west facing window giving views across the parkland to Ben Lomond. There is a round pine dining table with dining chairs and a comfortable sitting area with a sofa bed. The modern bathroom is fitted with a large shower unit. The cottage is suitable for partially disabled guests with its wide doors.
Oak Cottage
A two bedroom cottage on two floors facing South and West. The downstairs living area comprises a long modern kitchen with a round dining table and a glass door leading into a round walled private patio. The living area has stunning views across the fields and is fully furnished with a double sofa bed and comfortable armchairs. There is a separate downstairs cloakroom with basin and WC. The beautiful hemlock wood stairs lead to the fully carpeted first floor. The Master bedroom with a King size bed has a long window facing West with its outstanding views. There are also a hand wash basin, a hanging cupboard and a dressing table. The second bedroom with twin beds has ample cupboard space, a dressing table and an antique writing desk. Between the bedrooms is a large bathroom with a basin, bath with a shower unit and a full length hot towel rail.
Birch Cottage
A two bedroom cottage over two floors with a private patio. The ground floor consists of a comfortable living area with a large South facing window. It is furnished with a comfortable sofa and armchairs and opens onto the modern fully equipped L shaped kitchen and a dining area. There is a separate downstairs cloakroom with basin and WC. A glass door leads out from the dining area onto the South facing stone and brick patio leading to the park. The hemlock wood stairs lead to two bedrooms which are fully carpeted, one with a King size bed and the other with twin beds. Between them off the landing, is a modern bathroom with a shower and vanity unit
Sycamore Cottage
A delightful cottage for a romantic retreat or a break away in glorious surroundings. Perfectly placed to make the most of Loch Lomond, Sycamore Cottage is a charming conversion of an old steading bakery. The holiday cottage is newly and freshly renovated and consists of a double bedroom with a King sized bed and a shower room with a large powerful corner shower. The pretty new kitchen leads into the open plan living room with a dining table and chairs, comfortable sofa and easy chair, TV, DVD and audio equipment. A large glass door leads onto the private paved patio with lawns and old trees stretching away into Finnich's parkland.
Finnich Steading Cottages are perfectly placed for visitors to explore some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland. The Loch Lomond National Park provides a huge range of outdoor activities including water sports, hiking and biking. The famous West Highland Way passes through the charming village of Drymen a short distance away. Riding, golf on a variety of courses and fishing on the river Endrick can all be arranged. The local area provides a range of friendly pubs and small restaurants, art galleries, a range of shops, and an excellent medical centre. Glengoyne Distillery is only 3 miles away and caters for visitors seven days a week.
The cottages are surrounded by extensive gardens, fields and woodlands, far away from any public road - a paradise for children of all ages to feel free and safe in this natural environment. There is a large area with a play ground and a sand-pit immediately beyond the patios of the cottages and for the older children there are cycle paths, a tennis court and miles of unspoiled countryside to explore in safety.

Gleneagles Golf Resort

Hilton Park Golf Club
Two interesting moorland courses designed by James Braid set amid beautiful scenery.
Hilton: 18 holes, 6,054 yards, par 70 (SSS 70).
Allander: 18 holes, 5,374 yards, par 69 (SSS 70).
Vale of Leven Golf Course
The Vale of Leven Golf Club was formed in 1907 and the course is situated on the east side of the valley overlooking the surrounding area with some tremendous views of Loch Lomond and Ben Lomond. From the highest point of the course the view extends as far as Dumbarton Rock and the Clyde estuary. Classed as part parkland and part heathland the course has been described as a hidden gem with undulating fairways and fast greens.
Strathkendrick Golf Course
Some of the holes are tricky with undulating fairways and greens, but the course remains a fair one in which you are capable of shooting a low round.
