Welcome to the Mas de la Rivoire a former winery from the 14th Century in the South of France.

 

The Mas was recently restored with great care. Mas de La Rivoire is located in Languedoc-Roussillon halfway between Cevennes Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea.

 

We are located between Montpellier and Nimes two beautiful historic towns, and also about twenty minutes from the coast and the beautiful beaches like" Palavas", "La Grande Motte" and "Le Grau-du-Roi", at the door of the legendary Camargue.

 

Our guest house is located in Villevieille a pretty village nearby Sommières. It’s a quiet and idyllic location nestled between orchards and olive groves and nice smelling lavender fields.

 

On our four-hectare plot with its own water source, we offer our guests in historical walls, five double rooms and four spacious apartments all with charm and character. From here you get cozy courtyard with a small staircase to the individual accommodation. In the wonderful vaulted cellar with a huge stone fireplace you have got for your convenience a microwave, a fridge, a water boiler and an espresso machine.

Need to be active? You have a choice of table tennis, petanque, badminton, soccer and volleyball or you may use our newly built gym. In addition we offer private parking and a pool made of stone in a Mediterranean and child friendly garden.
 

The five charming double rooms

We welcome you to our five charming double rooms. Each double room has their own entrance, accessible through a small stone staircase from the courtyard. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and modern, while the authentic style with its century’s old stone walls is maintained.
 

Each double room has a modern bathroom with a nice shower and toilet, TV-lounge and big comfortable double beds (160x200cm).

 

Two double rooms have their own private patio or terrace. In the wonderful vaulted cellar with an impressive fireplace there is a microwave, a fridge, a water boiler and an espresso machine at your disposal.

 

In addition we offer WiFi connection, private parking and a pool made of stone in a beautiful garden.

 

If you wish to be active there is a choice of ping-pong, pétanque, badminton, soccer and volleyball or use our newly built gym

 

The four characteristics gîtes

We welcome you to our four characteristic apartments with full comfort and private garden with their own patio.

 

All apartments are nicely equipped with big double beds (160 x 200cm) in the bedroom, modern bathrooms with shower or bathtub, full equipped kitchen with dishwasher, spacious living with TV-lounge, own access to the private garden with patio.

 

Linens are provided. In addition we offer WiFi-connection, private parking and a pool made of stone in a beautiful garden.

 

Table d’hôtes / Set menu
During the season, we cook minimum once a week in the evening for our guests. Whether a traditional stew (Cassoulet), paella or just a BBQ, all our dishes are served with fresh vegetables and delicious salads. As a highlight for dessert we serve you our famous "Crème Brûlée à la Fabienne" or "Variation de Fromages à la René".

 

Also we can offer you a selection of fine wines from the region. On request, we are preparing for you light lunches or picnics.

Nîmes Vacquerolles Golf Course

Just 8 minutes from the centre of town, you will find the Nîmes Vacquerolles golf course. Niched in a gently sloping valley amidst the aromatic and sun-drenched hills of the garrigue, this course will satisfy the beginner and the most demanding of golfer. A dynamic and sporting club, known for it’s warm ambiance ! This all-round course allows each golfer to take pleasure in the game : undulating with impregnable views and a more relaxed last 9 holes : the greens are vast, sometimes elevated, with numerous plateaus

 

Nîmes Campagne Golf Club

Situated between Languedoc and Provence, the Mediterranean and the Cevennes, two steps from the Camargue, Nimes Campagne Golf Club welcomes you to its 134 acre undulating, wooded estate. The 18-hole course (par 72, 6315 m) was designed by the architects Leonard Morandi and Donald Harradine in 1970, on a 134 acre wooded estate slightly hilly. Nimes Campagne Golf Club is laid in an enchanting environment and benefits from a favorable climate, perfect for golf

 

La Grande Motte Golf Course

The course was designed by the American golf course architect, Robert Trent Jones. He is the world's top designer, with 500 courses to his credit, among them the most beautiful courses in the world.

 

Golf Montpellier Massane

Each hole on the Massane golf course, complete with fragrant broom borders and ponds filled with gleaming carp, offers its own unique personality with their rolling fairways like links, white sand bunkers and theirs greens each with their own distinctive design. This golf course has been built to offer you a unique golfing experience with for example its hole n°5 where you have to cross a lake in order to get the green.
