Atlantic Course :  Ranked in the Top 30 Courses in Continental Europe, the Atlantic Penha Longa Golf Course designed by the famed Robert Trent Jones Jr. is escapist golf at its best. The architect designed the Penha Longa golf course to best take account of the steeply sloping terrain and excellent views of the surrounding landscape, across the Sintra mountains to the sea beyond. With its bold drives, courageous approaches and artful greens, it is both an adrenalin rush and asoothing journey through one of Portugal’s most inspiring landscapes.

Monastery Course: The Mosteiro, 9-hole gold course, benefits from the amazing landscapes of Penha Longa. It is less undulating than the Atlantico, championship golf course, and so presents fewer difficulties for the player. Nevertheless, this is not an easy 9-holes and it is a golf course that requires high handicaps and challenges players with its fast greens and narrow fairways. Lakes give Penha Longa Mosteiro Golf Course a special beauty, especially near holes, 4 -close to an ancient monastery, 5 and 8 where the romantic Sintra mountain range also accompanies the player. Designed by the renowned golf architect, William "Rocky" Roquemore, author of several projects in Portugal, the Belas Golf Course, situated between Belas and Queluz, is set in Carregueira mountains. It has been perfectly integrated in Charles Franzman's master-plan for the Country Club's residential development of houses spread over the hills, with views over the Belas golf course and the valleys, and fairways sheltered from the wind.

This is one of the newest golf courses built on the Estoril coast. The Quinta da Beloura golf course forms part of a residential development; it is very flat and so provides a pleasurable but not exhausting game

 

Estoril Golf - Blue Course 10 minutes drive from home

The Estoril golf course was designed by Mackenzie Ross and is known as one of the oldest and most prestigious club in Portugal. Twenty years, after its opening, the management team decided to complete the Estoril championship golf course with a 9-hole course.

Since the opening of the Estoril Golf Course in 1936, a number of alterations and improvements have been made to its original layout. Overlooking Estoril and the sea, the 5262 meter long course is set amongst eucalyptus, pine and mimosa trees, giving it a uniquely colourful touch.

Originally Lisbon Sports Club Golf Course dates back to 1880, when a group of English residents living in the Lisbon area, founded a Sports Club. By 1890 they had built a small 6-hole golf course in Alges.

Oitavos golf course is set among pine woods and reforested dunes, in an area of great natural beauty. Being a seaside golf course, the ocean view is present all the time, although some of the more fantastic scenery comes from the Sintra mountains and Cabo da Roca the Europe's most western point, seen from the 9, 10, 11 and 14 holes.

 

Quinta da Marinha Golf Course 20 minutes drive from home

The Quinta da Marinha Golf Course was designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones Sr. and is set in a private estate of 110 hectares, wooded with pine trees. The architect has worked on the flat terrain. The most spectacular hole on the Quinta da Marinha Golf Course is hole number 13, a Par 4 of 339 metres sloping down towards the sea. Once on the green, the golfer has the Atlantic Ocean as background.
