Domaine de la Marjolaine, house rental and apartment rental near St Endreol Golf Course and Terre Blanche Golf Course, South of France

The Domaine de la Marjolaine is a five bedroomed provençal villa set in 13 hectares (approx 30 acres) of private land.

It is less than an hour's drive from Nice International Airport, and less than 30 minute's drive from the railway stations at St Raphael or Les Arcs-Draguignan, both of which are served by the high speed TGV trains from Paris and Lille-Europe.

The house, with its large, fenced, swimming pool, is set in gardens and parkland overlooking a valley. There are fine views through the trees to the nearby hill-top village of Bagnols-en-Foret.

The accommodation is divided into two independent parts.

The house proper sleeps six in three bedrooms.

There is also a self-contained apartment on a lower level sleeping four. The apartment has its own entrance opening off a sunken terrace.

The House

The main open plan living room is approx 45m² and has French windows at each end. There are splendid views from the sitting room area across towards the village, and from the dining room towards the red rock hills of the Esterel.

The sitting room area has a large open fireplace, two large sofas, armchairs, satellite* television video and DVD player.

The other half of the room is the dining room with a long dining table and chairs. There is also a Bechstein grand piano. The French windows from this end give onto a south facing covered terrace with table and chairs, ideal for outside dining.

There is one double bedroom and two further bedrooms each with twin beds. There is a bathroom (bath, loo, bidet and basin) plus a further separate shower room (shower, loo,bidet and basin).

The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, large gas hob and oven. There is a dishwasher and microwave.

The Apartment

There are external stairs down to the apartment, which has its own sunken terrace. The terrace is equipped with a Bar-b-que, outside table and chairs and there are steps up to the pool area.

The living room has a comfortable sofa bed (sleeping two) and an extendible dining table . There is a large double bedroom which can be used either as a double or twin bedded room and there is substantial wardrobe space.

There is a shower room equipped with shower, basin, bidet, and there is a separate loo.

The apartment has its own separate kitchen equipped with gas cooker, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine.

Pool & Grounds

Pool:
There is a large (15x7 metre) swimming pool.

The pool has a cover and is equipped with a diving board and a removable surrounding fence for the security of young children.

Grounds:
The house and Apartment are set in extensive grounds covering 13 hectares (approx 30 acres) of private land. Much of the land is wooded.

Gardens:
The garden immediately around the house has fine mature trees and lawns.

Amenities

Bagnols-en-Fôret: is in the department of the Var, west of Nice. It is a charming old hill village with all essential shopping available from a grocery, two bakeries, local wine cooperative, visiting market, chemist, and two local bars and restaurants.

Tennis Courts: are available in the village, about ten minutes walk from the house and can be booked through the village club.

Windsurfing/Sailing: is possible on the coast at St Raphael and Frejus and also at the Lac St Cassien, a freshwater lake fifteen minutes drive inland, (please note that motor powered boats are not permitted on the lake).

The Beach: is twenty minutes drive away, the nearest coast towns being St Raphael and Frejus. Depending on the traffic it is around forty minutes drive to Cannes and Antibes, and one hour to St Tropez.

Riding: There are horses stabled on the property which may be available for hire for accompanied rides.

Wine: there are several good VINEYARDS to visit, particularly in the Le Muy direction. Jas d’Esclans, St Romain d’Esclans and Desmoiselles are all within five minutes drive of each other.

Golf: is available at the attractive Saint Endreol golf course
and Terre Blanche Golf Course. Both are about ten minutes drive away from the Domaine.
