Situated 1 km off the little village of Regencós and 2 kms from the traditional old villages of Begur and Pals “Mas Mauri” is set in grounds of 3 hectares (6 acres) close to everything but far enough from crowded resorts and crowded roads. Summer tourists can enjoy in this part of central Costa Brava the wonderful seaside, the very old unspoiled villages and the top local food. Temperate climate winter, fall and spring gives “week break golfers” great conditions in the the most peaceful and beautiful scenery.
You will need a car to get to “Mas Mauri”. When flying, hire your car at the airport, we have three options for airports: *Girona Airport -40 km- with low-cost Ryanair flights to many European airports (some flights call this airport Barcelona-Girona); *Barcelona Airport -140 kms by highway up to three km of the house; *Perpignan Airport (France) -70 kms.
“Mas Mauri” is a very old XVII century rural house (masía) completely renovated but keeping all its authentic and original architecture. . This year new improvements have been made. Inside the 9 double rooms have now been transformed into 7 rooms all with en-suite bathrooms; beds and mattresses are all new and large size. Outside, garden has been transformed to a more ecological one that needs less irrigation; lawn has been changed to nicer “Bermuda lawn” to remind you of golf links, and olive and almond trees together with cypresses and palms lie on a very nice gravel bed. We irrigate garden, vegetable garden and fruit trees from our own well water. Around the pool we have created a large solarium in teak.
“Mas Mauri” has a very special housekeeper – Roberto- he takes care of garden and pool, vegetable garden, fruit trees around the house and poultry too. He doesn’t speak a word of foreign languages but he is very nice and if you get in good touch with him, he will offer you fresh eggs for breakfast, just collected tomatoes or lettuces, cherries or peaches or pears when in season. Roberto comes from the Gran Chaco area of Bolivia, Argentina and Paraguay and knows the best way to cook a wonderful “asado”.
Catalan food merits some words; considered nowadays best cooking in the world, local creator chefs like Ferrán Adriá and Joan Roca (3 stars each) have created a fantastic school followed by many restaurants in the area; we shall arrange for our guests to visit some of them for dinner, when desired. Nobody in Spain would expect a good dinner without a good wine, so “Mas Mauri” will provide an small bus with a driver to take you to the restaurant and drop you home later completely safe. Every day at breakfast time you will have the opportunity to choose from the different restaurant menus shown, the right place for dinner. This facility is offered to our guests as a courtesy with no charge at all.
If, during your stay, the weather conditions will make it difficult to play golf we shall recommend different possibilities: taking a visit to the beautiful old villages around; paying a visit to Salvador Dalí museum (35 minutes drive); taking a trip to wonderful Barcelona (1 hour an a half drive): Gothic district, Modernism tour, Picasso museum, Joan Miró museum and many other things in Barcelona. If you you prefer to stay home, Ramón, a good amateur chef, will cook a shellfish paella for everybody and will teach you to do this yourselves.

You will find yourselves criss-crossing the Canal du Midi and the River Herault. Within easy striking distance are the historic old towns of Pezenas, Agde, and further afield the marvellous fortified city of Carcassonne and the Minerve area with its Cathar history.
To the north, through this great wine growing area, the largest in Europe, you reach the beautiful Orb valley, and the mountains beyond, with the Gorges d'Heric and the Lac du Salagou. Avignon and Nimes are a possibility for day trips, or even over the border into Spain, via the delightful Collioure.

One of Spain's most famous golf courses, where many major national and international competitions take place.
