Casita Mirador can accommodate 2-4 persons.

Just a few kilometres from this village lays the Finca Barranco, a charming holiday complex that combines the beauty of the mountains with the rolling farm lands and olive trees groves. One of the best assets of the Finca Barranco is the country estate “Molino Nuestra Señora de la Luz”, a traditional Andalucian farm which dates back to 1754 and served as an olive oil mill.

In what was once the old mill and today is a restaurant, weary travellers will be able to enjoy the most delicious dishes of traditional Mediterranean cuisine, prepared with products grown on the premises.

Its architecture is typical Andaluz, with its roots in the ancient Roman idea of building around a central courtyard, thus creating a quiet, shaded and fragrant heart to the building where one can sit protected from the hot summer sun by old vines, in delightful silence disturbed only by a gurgling fountain.

The fourteen rooms offered in this property are as carefully and gently looked after as you will be. Each of the rooms has a modern en-suite bathroom and is decorated individually according to the family's taste and talent, sporting such details as their home-crocheted bedcovers.

Breakfast is served by the fireplace in the huge, traditional dining room, dominated by its dark beamed cathedral ceiling. Lunch is not provided but dinner can be arranged, provided that it is ordered in time (by 5 pm) to allow Doña Consuela time to go into town for the shopping. Authentic, home-cooking is guaranteed, prepared by the lady herself.

You will be invited to sit by the fireplace with a cocktail in the dining anteroom while your meal is being prepared, and ushered into the dining room with it's long wooden tables to eat. A drawing room with a fireplace on the second floor is the perfect place to snuggle with a warm after-diner cognac, or if you prefer, a gentle game of billiards. If that is too taxing you can exercise your wits instead, at the chess table. 

This building complex adds a number of rooms and adjacent houses to the farm, some attached to the main building. The others are scattered around the complex and were once used as lodging for the mill workers.

The vast central courtyard is a lovely place to while away the afternoons, there are splendid gardens and a big, inviting pool too. All around, as far as you can see, is rural tranquility.

To one side of the Cortijo are some self-catering cottage/apartments sharing access to the pool and other facilities. 

For the energetic, the Cortijo can organize riding, hiking, mountain biking and golf.

The gentle climate of the Sierra in Cádiz, with average temperatures near 20ºC, is ideal for activities like hiking, outdoor photography, horseback riding, mountain biking, swimming, hunting, water sports, golf and many more. Guests can enjoy such activities and commune with nature throughout the year.

The par-72 championship and the short par-3 course were both designed by Stirling and Martin of the Global Golf Company. Costa Ballena Golf

Par 72, length 6.036 meters for men and 5.155 meters for ladies. This course contains 18 championship holes, all of which are relatively flat and ideal for all types of golfer. Some of the holes run alongside the Atlantic Ocean (Links) and the rest are parkland, with a few lakes and with strategic bunkers. In 2002, 9 more holes were added to cover the original design.

Hi-spec studio apartment for two in Novo Sancti Petri, Cadiz Province, Andalucia

It overlooks the Club de Golf, Novo Sancti Petri, and is a 300m walk to the spectacular unspoilt 8km beach of La Barrosa.

Located on the terrace at the quiet rear of the commercial/leisure centre of Novo Sancti Petri, it has a dining/meeting area, lounge and workspace with broadband, VoIP phone with London number for cheap calls or if you’d rather no one to know where you are, HDMI for internet on TV, a docking station for iPod et al, a double bedroom, kitchen, shower room and toilet.

Twelve restaurants, a supermarket, three pharmacies, bars, two banks with ATMs, six car hire company bases are all within a short walking distance, as are eight 4 and 5 star hotels giving a choice of more restaurants and evening entertainment -in the summer at least.

The apartment overlooks the practice holes of the Club de Golf NSP , which has three courses, one designed by Seve Ballesteros. The Club House, which you can see from the apartment, is a 5-minute walk away. A fourth course, Lomas de Sancti Petri  is a little longer walk away. A fifth, Golf Melia Sancti Petri  , is about 4km inland and a sixth, San Andres is 6 km.

Two more distant courses are Dehesa de Montenmedio Golf & Country Club 39 km south on the E5 N340, one of the most beautiful in Spain and Barceló Montecastillo Hotel & Golf Resort , 56 km north near Jerez, designed by Jack Nicklaus. Arcos Gardens  - the winter training facility of the Swedish Golf Federation and the English Golf Union- is more distant (77km SE of Arcos, A389, CA-6104, CA-5221). The best guide is www.enjoycadizgolf.com which enables you to make bookings in most of the courses mentioned with substantial discounts on green fees.

There are several other sports facilities close to hand: tennis courts, also seen from the apartment, horse-riding, sailing and water sports in the old tuna-fishing port of Sancti Petri (4km).

Among other places nearby worth a visit are the spectacular Moorish hill top town of Vejer (34km); Cadiz, Europe’s most ancient city (44km); the Roman ruins of Baelo (44km); Jerez, with sherry company bodegas offering tasting and tapas tours; Tarifa, surfing capital of Europe, (83km), but also offering whale and dolphin watching off Gibraltar, and day trips to Morocco (Tangier). Magnificent Seville (149km) is a day trip by rail from San Fernando (1 hr 40 min , 25€ return).
