Quarry Cottage (Sleeps 4)
Quarry Cottage has a master bedroom with king-size bed & en-suite plus a twin bedroom and separate bathroom with shower. Open-plan kitchen with oven & hob,dishwasher, fridge and freezer. Utility with washer & drier. Spacious living/dining area with wood-burning stove and patio doors leading to garden with seating area and barbecue. Quarry cottage has level-access doorways and is all on ground floor.
Piper’s Cottage (Sleeps 6)
Piper’s Cottage has a master bedroom with king-size bed and en-suite shower room on the first floor. On the ground floor there are two twin rooms and family bathroom with shower. Kitchen with oven & hob, dishwasher, fridge and freezer opens onto spacious living/dining area with wood burner and patio doors leading to garden with seating area and barbecue. Utility with washer and drier.
Cruach Dubh (Sleeps 8)
Cruach Dubh – Ground floor twin bedroom has en-suite bathroom with separate shower. 3 further bedrooms upstairs; one king-size bed with en-suite shower room, one king-size bed with en-suite bathroom including separate shower, one twin room plus family bathroom with shower. Lounge with wood burning stove and patio doors leading to garden with seating area and barbecue. Spacious kitchen with range cooker, dishwasher & fridge/freezer leading to bright dining room. Cardross Golf Club was founded in 1895. The current golf course layout benefited from design changes recommended by James Braid, which were implemented in 1921. Generous undulating fairways and large deciduous trees are features of the golf course and it tends to play much longer than the yardage suggests.
With stunning panoramic views across the Clyde Estuary towards Arran and over the Loch Lomond to the Trossachs, our exciting moorland course is a 'Must Play' experience.
Buchanan Castle offers golfers a fair but challenging round of golf in a unique setting, with mountains, river and forest scenery near the shores of Loch Lomond. It is a stunningly beautiful parkland course.

Aberfoyle lies South of Loch Lomond but high on the Menteith Hills. This course is very up and down but is quite short, so it is not over challenging.
The backdrop at Callander is as uplifting as the course is diverse and it is a pleasure to see your ball scorching towards its target against such scenery. Designed by Old Tom Morris this is a scenic, wooded parkland course with panoramic views to Ben Ledi, fantastically diverse holes and well-maintained greens.
A picturesque 9 hole course set in the beautiful scenery of the Perthshire Highlands. Often described as the most beautiful 9 hole golf course in Scotland.
Considering the imposing hills that surround the course, the terrain is surprisingly level, and is popular with those new to the sport yet proves to be a difficult course to score well on for the more experienced player, superb green keeping and breathtaking scenery.
The Carrick Golf Club is one not to miss. There is a choice of two course; the nine hole Wee Demon and the unforgettable Carrick Course. The Carrick Course runs alongside the banks of Loch Lomond and offers stunning views of the spectacular landscape.

The Cottages
Finnich Steading Cottages which are family owned and managed, lie hidden on the edge of the Loch Lomond National Park in beautiful rural surroundings on the private Finnich Country Estate. From the cottages there are uninterrupted views 13 miles to Ben Lomond, yet the pretty Stirlingshire villages of Drymen and Killearn are only 3 miles away.
The cottages have been created round the courtyard of the beautiful 19th Century red sandstone steading, which has recently undergone a total renovation programme. Each cottage has been rebuilt to the highest standards of convenience and comfort while retaining the character and features of the old buildings. In addition to the landscaped courtyard with its large communal games room, each cottage has an outdoor patio with views out over the woods and fields. There is ample parking available and a large grass play area.
Each cottage is beautifully furnished and equipped to the highest standard with large living areas with wooden floors, modern fully equipped kitchens, round dining tables and separate living areas with comfortable sofas and armchairs. All windows are double glazed with full length curtains or blinds and all are equipped with Sky TV, DVD, CD player and WiFi. Each unit has a separate central heating system with ample supplies of hot water for the luxuriously fitted bathrooms and showers. In the courtyard there is a shared laundry and drying room with ironing facilities.
Rowan Cottage
Rowan is a one bedroom cottage with a King Size bed and memory foam mattress. The light open plan living area with its fully equipped L shaped kitchen has a large west facing window giving views across the parkland to Ben Lomond. There is a round pine dining table with dining chairs and a comfortable sitting area with a sofa bed. The modern bathroom is fitted with a large shower unit. The cottage is suitable for partially disabled guests with its wide doors.
Oak Cottage
A two bedroom cottage on two floors facing South and West. The downstairs living area comprises a long modern kitchen with a round dining table and a glass door leading into a round walled private patio. The living area has stunning views across the fields and is fully furnished with a double sofa bed and comfortable armchairs. There is a separate downstairs cloakroom with basin and WC. The beautiful hemlock wood stairs lead to the fully carpeted first floor. The Master bedroom with a King size bed has a long window facing West with its outstanding views. There are also a hand wash basin, a hanging cupboard and a dressing table. The second bedroom with twin beds has ample cupboard space, a dressing table and an antique writing desk. Between the bedrooms is a large bathroom with a basin, bath with a shower unit and a full length hot towel rail.
Birch Cottage
A two bedroom cottage over two floors with a private patio. The ground floor consists of a comfortable living area with a large South facing window. It is furnished with a comfortable sofa and armchairs and opens onto the modern fully equipped L shaped kitchen and a dining area. There is a separate downstairs cloakroom with basin and WC. A glass door leads out from the dining area onto the South facing stone and brick patio leading to the park. The hemlock wood stairs lead to two bedrooms which are fully carpeted, one with a King size bed and the other with twin beds. Between them off the landing, is a modern bathroom with a shower and vanity unit
Sycamore Cottage
A delightful cottage for a romantic retreat or a break away in glorious surroundings. Perfectly placed to make the most of Loch Lomond, Sycamore Cottage is a charming conversion of an old steading bakery. The holiday cottage is newly and freshly renovated and consists of a double bedroom with a King sized bed and a shower room with a large powerful corner shower. The pretty new kitchen leads into the open plan living room with a dining table and chairs, comfortable sofa and easy chair, TV, DVD and audio equipment. A large glass door leads onto the private paved patio with lawns and old trees stretching away into Finnich's parkland.
Finnich Steading Cottages are perfectly placed for visitors to explore some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland. The Loch Lomond National Park provides a huge range of outdoor activities including water sports, hiking and biking. The famous West Highland Way passes through the charming village of Drymen a short distance away. Riding, golf on a variety of courses and fishing on the river Endrick can all be arranged. The local area provides a range of friendly pubs and small restaurants, art galleries, a range of shops, and an excellent medical centre. Glengoyne Distillery is only 3 miles away and caters for visitors seven days a week.
The cottages are surrounded by extensive gardens, fields and woodlands, far away from any public road - a paradise for children of all ages to feel free and safe in this natural environment. There is a large area with a play ground and a sand-pit immediately beyond the patios of the cottages and for the older children there are cycle paths, a tennis court and miles of unspoiled countryside to explore in safety.
Golf - Finnich Steading Cottages are ideally placed to visit world-class Scottish courses including Loch Lomond and Gleneagles. Local courses who welcome visitors include Buchanan Castle, Hilton Park and The Vale of Leven. There is also Strathendrick Golf Club, a nine-hole public course on the outskirts of Drymen just 3 miles away.

Hilton: 18 holes, 6,054 yards, par 70 (SSS 70).
Allander: 18 holes, 5,374 yards, par 69 (SSS 70).
The Vale of Leven Golf Club was formed in 1907 and the course is situated on the east side of the valley overlooking the surrounding area with some tremendous views of Loch Lomond and Ben Lomond. From the highest point of the course the view extends as far as Dumbarton Rock and the Clyde estuary. Classed as part parkland and part heathland the course has been described as a hidden gem with undulating fairways and fast greens.
Some of the holes are tricky with undulating fairways and greens, but the course remains a fair one in which you are capable of shooting a low round.

Shelldun Guest House in Troon
WHERE IS "SHELLDUN"?
"Shelldun" is a large detached corner bungalow situated to the north of Troon in a quiet residential area, only 100 yards from Barassie Beach with its views over the Firth of Clyde to the Isle of Arran, some 15 miles offshore. It is conveniently located for all road, rail, air and sea links to the West Coast of Scotland and the many places of interest and golf courses that the area has to offer the visitor.
Our nearest golf course, only a long putt away, is Kilmarnock/Barassie. Glasgow Gailes and Western Gailes are a short 5 minutes north on the A78 by car. Royal Troon is at the opposite side of Troon only 10 minutes by car. Troon's municipal courses - Fullarton, Darley and Lochgreen are only 5 minutes away by car. Ayr Belleisle and Girvan courses are only a short drive away by car. Turnberry is south of Ayr along the coast road and easily reached by car. Loch Lomond is only one hour by car north.

Shelldun is a light, bright and spacious, ground floor all on the level detached corner bungalow and tranquil family home. It is furnished and maintained to Linda's exacting high standards throughout and fully centrally heated.
The tiled vestibule (providing ideal safe storage for golf clubs and wheelchairs etc), opens into the main carpeted entrance hall, dividing the property by design with Linda & Malcolm's private quarters to the right and the guest accommodation to the left.

All our en-suite bedrooms are on the ground floor and level with no steps. Our rooms are furnished, decorated and maintained to a high standard assuring comfort with quality beds, linens and furnishings.

LOUNGING AROUND
The comfortable, light and spacious guest lounge opens onto a level patio in our pretty, private and sheltered walled garden, which guests are welcome to enjoy, when even in winter it can be something of a sun-trap! . The lounge also offers TV, DVD, HiFi radio/CD player, WiFi and tea/coffee making facilities.
ALL THINGS CULINARY
Breakfasts and evening meals are served in the dining conservatory overlooking the private walled garden. Linda takes pride in serving freshly prepared food to order using organic, free range and local farmers markets/suppliers as much as possible. Be assured only the highest quality ingredients find their way into Linda’s kitchen. Picnic lunches, pre-wedding lunches and evening meals are available with prior notice. Special diets can be catered for – just let Linda know in advance.

Kilmarnock [Barassie] Golf Club
We have an extensive history and been offering golfers a magnificent links golf challenge in Ayrshire for nearly 125 years. The club now has twenty seven holes and offers everything golfers would expect from a Scottish seaside golf course; challenging fairways and greens as well as a friendly, welcoming membership.
At 6903 yards long from the championship tees with a par of 71 Gailes is a great test of golf whilst the kinder medium tees provides a fine test for players of all abilities. It is simply traditional links at its best.
This natural links course offers undulating fairways, occasionally interupted by three meandering burns. Greens that are cleverly located in naturally folded ground, some protected by burns whilst others guarded by sand dunes. The course is rated 35th in the Top 100 courses of the British Isles.
The Royal Troon Old Course has held The Open Championship seven times. It is one of the great links courses in Scotland and with the wind to contend with, and deep rough interspersed with gorse and broom, accurate shot making is essential.
The Portland Course, also a links, is a little more sheltered than the Old Course and, of course, shorter. The holes meander through terrain filled with gorse and broom and has a generous helping of par 3's, five in all

Darley is a true links as in the wildcat variety. It has feline ferocity and abounds with the renowned Scottish hazards of heather, gorse and whin.

Lochgreen Par 74, running parallel at points to Royal Troon and used for several years as a qualifier for the Open. Although Lochgreen is predominately a links type course, holes of a more parkland type are in the "dovecot section"
This classic course set in Belleisle Park boasts beech tree lined and extra long fairways interlaced by the Curtecan Burn, combining natural landscape features with spectacular views over to the Isle of Arran.
