Hafton Castle is a magnificent Scottish building with views across Holy Loch, set in delightful gardens. The scottish castle also boasts a large indoor heated swimming pool.
The Castle is a superb house with its wonderful indoor pool, billiard room, toy room, library, dining room, superb reception hall, small drawing room, opening onto large drawing room., spacious conservatory and lots of outdoor space with terrace and gardens, in fact plenty of space for the large number of people it sleeps. The splendid reception hall has plenty of seats, wood-burner and a grand piano. The Castle was built by James Hunter, and its architect was David Hamilton who also designed Dunoon Castle.
The bedrooms are comfortable and all have en-suite showers. The building has some magnificent features, beautiful ceilings, carved doors and a superb staircase.
Hafton Castle is available for exclusive hire. It is the perfect venue for weddings, reunions, corporate events, birthday parties, all sorts of gatherings. Ideal for art or music holidays, tuition can be arranged for groups. Arrangements can be made with local caterers, or functions can be self catered if preferred.
Hafton Castle is ideally situated on the Cowal Peninsula, the surrounding area is incredibly beautiful and the Castle is very accessible as it can be reached from Glasgow Airport in only 45 minutes by road. Most guests will arrive via the car ferry operated by Western Ferries from Gourock which crosses the Firth of Clyde, a very romantic and atmospheric start to their stay at Hafton Castle. It may be possible on request to arrange transport from the airport.

Ground Floor: The grand reception hall, small drawing room with beautiful views across to the sea which opens onto the large drawing room with bar area, library, dining room, conservatory which leads to the garden via french doors, billiard room, large heated indoor swimming pool in its own room. Play Room. Double bedroom with en-suite shower room, wc and whb. Double bedroom with additional single bed and en-suite shower room with wc and whb. Large fully equipped catering kitchen. Laundry room in basement. Ladies and Gentlemens Cloakrooms. There is disabled access to the Castle via a ramp into the conservatory, and two ground floor bedrooms.
First Floor : One double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with bath, shower, wc and whb. 6 double bedrooms all with en-suite shower, wc and whb, 3 twin-bedded rooms all with en-suite shower, wc and whb. Two double bedrooms with additional single and en-suite showers, wc and whb. One double with two additional single beds, en-suite shower with wc and whb, and one single bedroom with shower, wc and whb.
Second Floor: 3 twin-bedded rooms with en-suite shower rooms, wc and whb.

The Cowal Golf Course in Dunoon
The Cowal Golf Club course is a James S. Braid designed, 18 hole, 6063 yard mature parkland course laid out above the Firth of Clyde on the South-East facing slopes of the Cowal peninsula, offering spectacular views across the estuary, South over the island of Bute and beyond as far as Ailsa Craig in the distance.
Set in the heart of Renfrewshire, Greenock golf club has two James Braid designed parkland courses, an 18 hole course and a 9 hole course and offer golfers of all abilities a fair test of golf whilst you enjoy the magnificent views over the River Clyde and Dunoon.
Largs Golf Club is a superb 18-hole parkland course, situated in front of Kelburn Castle overlooking the Firth of Clyde with the islands of Cumbrae, Bute and Arran in the background, The course is enduringly popular with visitors, who return regularly year after year. The well-balanced layout offers an interesting and challenging experience to golfers across the broad spectrum of enthusiasm and ability.
The Royal Troon Old Course has held The Open Championship seven times. It is one of the great links courses in Scotland and with the wind to contend with, and deep rough interspersed with gorse and broom, accurate shot making is essential.
The Portland Course, also a links, is a little more sheltered than the Old Course and, of course, shorter. The holes meander through terrain filled with gorse and broom and has a generous helping of par 3's, five in all
Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the hill above Kames, the golf course offers truly panoramic views across the water to the Island of Bute. During the round there are other stunning aspects across Loch Fyne to the Mull of Kintyre, and south to the Ayrshire coast past Arran. The golf course has nine very intriguing holes, all quite different in design, requiring careful choice of both club and shot.
