CARVOEIRO

A typical Portugese fishermen's village that, in spite of its fast growth as a tourist attraction, has really kept its authentic character. The centre of the town has animation throughout the year and close by you will find lots of beautiful white sandy beaches surrounded by spectacular cliffs, some of the most beautiful golf courses, tennis courts and many other sports facilities.

In the Carvoeiro area there are lots of both typical Portugese and international restaurants and there are also many interesting and historical places to visit within the region.

As 70% of the game of golf is decided with approach and putting, the course has been specifically designed to test and improve a players skills in these areas. The greens are built to provide a very consistent putting surface, and are also especially receptive to a well struck shot.

Alto Golf Club

The 18-hole course was the last to be designed by the late Sir Henry Cotton. It is set in parklands, with views to the sea and to the Monchique hills. It is well-maintained but compact, with several of the fairways servicing more than one hole. The most memorable hole is the “Henry Cotton challenge” or “giant” 605 metre sixteenth.

Located in a private gated residence, within a quiet residential area, near the beach resort of Gale. Villa Trinity sleeps 6 people, with air conditioning, and private heated pool  for all year round use. Villa Trinity is no ordinary villa; new for 2009, this villa has a captivating modern style, ample space with lots of natural light on two floors. All the rooms furnished in contemporary style.

The villa has a ground floor open plan living room / dining room with double aspect patio doors to give direct access outside to the covered veranda with gas barbecue, heated saline filtered swimming pool and patio surround and lawned garden. The well equipped kitchen also has patio doors opening onto the veranda.

A bedroom with an adjacent bathroom is located on the ground floor with patio doors opening to a covered veranda and the front terrace with a small lawned area. Two further bedrooms, each with en suite, one with spa bath, the other a walk in shower, are located on the first floor, as well as a roof garden and extensive roof terrace with far reaching views to the mountains.

Local area and its attractions

Villa Trinity has a fantastic location, in Gale, just 40 minutes (50 km) drive from Faro airport and a few minutes west of Albufeira, perfect for those who look for active holidays, golf, fishing, nightlife, shopping, great restaurants, family parks, water sports, culture, history, or just a nice place by pool or beach to relax and enjoy the sunny days.

Gale and its 5kms long stretch of sandy beach is only 1.5kms. The beach and golf course of Salgados beach is only 5 minutes drive, not to mention all the other top golf courses the Algarve has to offer all within 20-40 minutes drive. There are more beaches in the vicinity which are worth visiting, such as São Rafael, Evaristo and Coelho beach. Many of them have wonderful beach restaurants and snack bars (sea food recommended!) where you can enjoy the sea view and the natural beauty of the various coves and long stretches of sand.

Amendoeira Golf Resort is home to two stunning championship golf courses.

The Oceânico Faldo Course has been designed with strategic play in mind and demands careful positioning to score well; rocky outcrops, meandering watercourses and views to the distant mountains and orange groves define its essential character.

The Oceânico O'Connor Jnr course is a course which offers no less of a challenge, large areas of water demand accurate play and creative shot making with the lakes and streams being maintained as a wildlife sanctuary.

Golf Vilamoura - 5 courses 
The Old Course at Vilamoura was inaugurated in 1969 and is an 18 hole par-73 course that is set within a rich green landscape with gentle sloping hills ad tree lined fairways which pose quite a stern test

The 18 hole par 72 Pinhal Course in Vilamoura opened in 1976 and stands in a magnificent Pine Forest with superb views over the sea. The front nine winds through umbrella pines while the back nine is more open with sea view

The 18 hole, Par 72 Laguna Course is set amongst dunes and water hazards which come into play on more than half the holes, so there is much trouble off the tee for a miss-hit shot. Accuracy is needed here as this is a real test of golfing skill

Victoria Clube de Golf Course is the longest golf course (90 hectares and 6560m) in Portugal which was designed by Arnold Palmer. It is a Par 72 18 hole championship course which opened in 2004 which was designed by Arnold Palmer.

The Millennium Course at Vilamoura is a new course that opened up in May 2000 - hence its name. Its a shortish open course which was designed by Martin Hawtree and has a most attractive and interesting layout.

Casa Luiz (formerly Casa Brigitte) in Carvoeiro, consists of four rooms, studios and apartments for holiday rental. Situated on the edge of a cliff offering uninterrupted views across the Atlantic Ocean and the West coastline of Portugal , it enjoys some of the most spectacular sunsets for you to relax to in the early evening whilst drinking your favourite sun-downer. Carvoeiro is considered a privileged fishing village, not over-developed and probably the prettiest village in the Algarve with picturesque bays, sandy beaches dramatic cliffs to stroll along and a multitude of beaches, caves and grottos to explore. For the discerning golfer and tennis lover, close by are the three well-known golf courses of Pinta, Gramacho and Vale do Milho, as well as the well known “Carvoeiro Tennis Club”. With good shopping facilities and an exceptional variety of restaurants catering for all tastes the area provides visitors with the perfect holiday destination.

From the apartments, the beach is a two minute stroll down the hill, as are all the amenities you need to make your holiday as stress free and transport free as possible.

Room 1 , Room 2: All are situated on the 1st floor and are around 25 squares metres both with balconies offering direct sea views. Equipped with double beds, own private bathrooms, TVs, fridges, microwaves, coffees makers, toasters, kettles and cutlery.

Studio 5: Situated on entrance level, covering 30 square metres, with its own private balcony and direct sea view. It consists of a fully equipped kitchen, dining table, TV, and seating that could accommodate one extra sleeping person, with its own outside private bathroom on entrance level.

Apartment 10: Situated at the top. It is the largest of all, covering 40 square metres of open area with its own private entrance and balcony as well direct sea view. Lounge with additional sofa/bed, dining room, private bathroom, complete kitchen as well as TV and DVD player. The air conditioning also works as a heater for the winter.

All rooms have double beds (in 10 they can be separated), and fan blowers/heaters (for the winter). Rooms are cleaned regularly or on request.

Getting to us

With regular flights to the nearest airport, Faro, and even more to Lisbon , only 2 hours 30 minutes away, access is easy. The nearest town is Lagoa ; Carvoeiro is about 4 km south and is well sign-posted. There are good new motorways in Portugal ; the A2 connects Lisbon with the Algarve and the A22 runs right along the Algarve .
