GOLF:
Opened in 1973, Aroeira Golf is an 18 hole championship course designed by Frank Pennink. Considered to be one of the best courses in Europe, Aroeira I has hosted the Portuguese Open in 1996 and 1997 as well as the Ladies Open and the Qualifying School for the Ladies European Tour
The second 18 hole course, Aroeira II was opened in 2000. Its architect, Donald Steel, wanted to design a course that would meet the recommendations of the European Tour that could be used for future Portuguese Opens. The course has 18 long greens, 5 large lakes, and 5 tees on each hole so that it can be played by all levels of golfers. Aroeira II will host the Qualifying School for the Ladies European Tour

Location and Activities
Sesimbra: This wonderful town facing the sea, built in the Serra da Arrábida, goes back in History until the Arab occupation. With natural viewpoints, it maintains the tradition of an old fishermen town. It became, for some years now, in an interesting summer vacation site.
Beaches : Sesimbra beach is the blue bay with its fishermen and traditions; its extremely calm sea, deemed to be a swimming pool. Sesimbra sea gathers ideal conditions so that both adults and children swim and play, without any concerns. Sesimbra sea extends from Caneiro to Prainha (also known as the fresh water beach), going by the Pedra Alta beach (with showers and balneary), Fortaleza beach, Antiga Lota beach and Novabeach (with showers and balneary).

Golf
Costa Azul is an exceptional scenery to play golf, with five courses in optimal conditions. Near the Fonte da Telha beach, in Costa da Caparica, you will find two courses: Aroeira I and Aroeira II . The first, designed by the European architect Frank Pennink, is integrated in a dense pine area that grants it a unique atmosphere. To complete this course, Aroeira II has quite diverse characteristics, which make of Aroeira the largest golf complex in the Lisbon area.
The course located in Quinta do Perú , close to Azeitão, was designed by the North American architect Rocky Roquemore, with quite a pleasant path. With many trees and full of wild flowers, course also has to offer a series of activities complementary to golf and excellent surrounding landscapes, in which the imposing and beautiful Serra da Arrábida stands out. Designed by the Portuguese architect Duarte Sottomayor, the Montado golf course is located in the Setúbal area, close to Palmela. Surrounded by Moscatel vineyards, the course has cork trees, typical of the area, and natural lakes. Finally you can find more golf courses in Tróia , Ribagolfe and Santo Estêvão .

Already open, the 18-hole golf course of Palmela Village Golf Resort designed by Jorge Santana da Silva has been carefully created to blend with its superb natural setting. With his experience and passion, he has designed a course which preserves as much of the natural landscape as possible, whilst protecting the environmentally sensitive areas.
The cozy Club House is located next to the last three holes of the course and features a bar with a terrace (with delicious meals prepared by a Portuguese chef), a restaurant on the 1st floor overlooking the course and with a fusion of international flavours in an exquisite atmosphere. With the Arrabida mountains as its backdrop, the Quinta do Peru Golf Course offers amateurs a pleasant game, whilst also presenting a challenge for professionals. It was voted amongst the top 10 courses in Portugal in the biennial poll organised by the European Golf magazine.With its many trees and wild flowers, the course provides a varied start, for the first three holes consist of a par 5, a 386-metre par 4 and a 186-metre par 3. Amongst the first nine holes, attention is drawn to the short eighth hole, with a lake in front of its green.
