Located in the heart of the Boyne Valley our one bedroom self-catering riverside country cottage retreat is at the entrance to a small Georgian farmhouse. The cottage overlooks mature parkland and its garden runs down to the Tremblestown River.
Visitors will find this the ideal place to relax and unwind with little to disturb the peace and quiet but birdsong. Roses and honeysuckle scent the air in summer. The lodge, a member of Alastair Sawday’s‘Special Place to Stay in Ireland’ offers a very high degree of charm and comfort. We are within easy reach of Dublin Airport and visitors will find many fine golf courses, walks, fishing and archaeological sites of interest close by.

The Lodge has three comfortable rooms.
The front door leads into the kitchen which is very well equipped - dishwasher, microwave, cooker, electric hob and all the necessary tools for cooking. It has a grey slate floor and pretty wallpaper. There is a cosy eating area by the window.
The Living room has a high ceiling, open fireplace and windows that overlook parkland. French doors open into a secret garden. Bookcases provide an eclectic collection of books, magazines, a mini hi-fi and a good selection of music.
The pretty double bedroom has an en suite shower room and will encourage lazy mornings. The shower room has a power shower and heated towel rail and is finished in white marble.
The shady garden is planted with sorbus and wild cherry, while the sunny rose garden which has a pretty arbour is a delight in summer and overlooks unspoilt countryside. Visitors are welcome to wander into our own garden which has been planted over the years with a mixture of native and ornamental trees and shrubs. In the little outhouse you will find garden furniture along with logs and coal which are provided free.
Our luxury self-catering cottage lies between Athboy and Kells in quiet unspoilt farming country, rural but not isolated. You will find our small road just one mile from the junction of the N52 and the R154. We, the owners live on the property. While our luxury self-catering cottage is quiet and ideally suited to rest and relaxation there are many activities and interesting things to see and do in Meath. Lake and forest walks are on our doorstep, while Loughcrew, just twenty minutes away with its beautiful gardens and passage graves built 5,000 years ago, offers more ambitious hill walking.
Visit the spectacular 4,000-year-old passage tombs at Newgrange and the recently opened earlier tombs of Knowth – both go under the Irish name of Brú na Bóinne - This World Heritage site is approximately 45 minutes drive, or you could visit the famous Battle of the Boyne site near Drogheda.

18-hole Golf Course Par-72 designed by Robert J. Browne comprising 6,800 yd's with large sand based greens on undulating ground with water, hazards which test the skills of all categories of golfers. The course is designed in two loops of 9-holes within the racetrack, which gives the effect of a hearthland with mounds and low-level trees. The back nine along side, are set in typical parkland surrounding with mature trees.
With 27 holes in mature parkland the main features of Royal Tara are the avenue of trees that each golfer must negotiate to come in with a decent score. The slick sand based Greens, open all year round, make this a little gem in the heart of the Bellinter valley.

Boyne View is an ideal base for touring Dublin. We are less than one hours drive from Dublin city centre. We can advise on touring, shopping and sporting occasions.
FISHING
We are located on the banks of the River Boyne with 2000 metres of fishing. This part of the Boyne was voted the best trout fishing in the British Isles 2004. The upper Boyne lakes are a 30 minute drive away. They are Lough Lene which has a blue flag for water quality by the EEC. It is mainly trout fishing with boat hire and permits available locally.
Another Boyne lake is Lough Bane which is only 6km from Lough Lene. Wild brown trout can be found on this lake.
White Lough is another of the Boyne lakes and brown and rainbow trout can be found on this lake.
PERMITS ARE AVAILABLE THROUGH THE VARIOUS ANGLING ASSOCIATION AND CAN BE ARRANGED PRIOR TO YOUR HOLIDAY.

This 6088 metre par 73 parkland golf course is maintained to a very high standard. Each hole tests every aspect of an individual's game from tee to green. The greens are sand based, each with their own individual character, some elevated, some two tiered and all guarded by approach bunkers that pose questions of any approach shot about to be played.
