Buttsbeare Cottage Sleeps 2
This newly converted Cornish barn was once a farm worker's cottage dating back some 400 years. It is set down a peaceful country lane with far reaching views across beautiful countryside and to the sea beyond. Ideal for couples or two sharing, the cottage is tastefully decorated and furnished with plenty of room to spread out and relax. Step out onto the private patio, with adjoining flowerbeds and a home produce garden where the owner grows a wide selection of fruit and vegetables, and enjoy the view across the fields to the sea. You will be welcomed with a home-made tea and invited to pick your own strawberries and raspberries when in season. Opposite are the owner's two horses, Jacob and Rollo, and nearby are three goats, ducks and chickens, free range eggs are available and a free supply of goat's milk. There are plenty of good woodland and canal walks within a short distance of the cottage. It is an outstanding springtime location, highly recommended for its beautiful wild flowers and wildlife - bunnies, young pheasants and March hares in abundance, you may even be lucky enough to spot hares boxing in the nearby meadow! This property is suitable for wheelchairs and partially disabled.

Accommodation: Ramp up to stable door entrance and into a spacious living room and kitchen with wood panelling across one wall, beams and stripped pine floor. Furnished with a sofa, two armchairs, colour TV, DVD, radio/CD player, large coffee table and electric log effect woodburner. Fully fitted kitchen with large worktop area, plenty of cupboards, electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and full combi microwave. Drop leaf dining table that seats up to four people. View from the kitchen window to stables opposite, countryside and sea. Lift-latch wood door into large bedroom with beautiful 5ft French double bed, antique dressing table and wardrobe. Door into light and airy en-suite bathroom with shower, basin, WC and large airing cupboard. Washing machine/dryer in tack room.

Outside: The property is approached along a lane. Enclosed garden with patio, garden furniture, barbecue and gate onto the lane leading to a public footpath. Stabling and grazing available for guest horses.

The course is surrounded by the town, the coast and the countryside. 18 holes. 6057 yds. Par 71. SSS 70. The natural all weather fairways and greens are rarely unplayable. Challenges are provided by tight lies and uneven stances on the close cropped undulating fairways. Many blind tee shots and approaches to well prepared undulating greens. The seaside links wind presents a new challenge every time you play. The Bude greens have beautiful quick surfaces with both severe and subtle borrows.

Ivyleaf Barton self catering holiday cottages are located just outsideBude, Cornwall and sleep between 2 and 8 people. They are rated overall 4 stars by English Tourist Board, with Ivyleaf Barton itself rated 5 star. The cottages are available all year round and some take pets by arrangement. Prices include bed linen and electricity and full gas central heating for Ivyleaf Barton and Courtside.

All the cottages have both TV/DVD and CD/Radio/DAB players. Guests have the use of an all weather tennis court and the cottages are adjacent to a 9 hole golf course/driving range/mountain board slope.

The Cottages are located in an exclusive residential area with lawned areas making an ideal safe location for families, approximately 3 miles north of Bude. They enjoy an elevated position with stunning views over both the coast towards Bude Bay and in the distance to Trevose Head and also the north Cornish countryside to Bodmin.

About Ivyleaf Cottages

We have seven self catering cottages, including Ivyleaf Barton house itself. All cottages have a patio and BBQ area (BBQ's provided free of charge).

Linhay and Byre are single storey cottages both rated 4 star sleeping 2 in a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom. Linhay was refitted in 2008 and now boasts a super ensuite shower room with large easy access shower. The sitting room and open plan kitchen make it a smart bolt hole for romantic getaway breaks and the LCD TV, CD/DAB radio and feature electric fire make it cosy during colder months

Barn and Mill are 2 storey cottages sleeping 4 overlooking the golf course and the coast

Both have a double bedroom with a second bedroom in Barn has a pair of full size bunk beds and Mill has a twin bedded room. The kitchens are well equipped and include a dishwasher and microwave in addition to the full size cooker LCD TV and DVD player

Courtside is a modern luxury cottage sleeping 3-4 people on 2 floors with a contemporary feel with black leather sofas and dining chairs. It has a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, fridge freezer and washer/dryer. The fully tiled shower-room/wc is also on the ground floor. Upstairs is a double bedroom and a bedroom with single bed and pull out secondary bed. These bedrooms have been converted from a loft space and have velux windows and some restricted headroom.

Stables is a single storey cottage sleeping 6 in two double bedrooms (one ensuite) and a twin bedded room. Stables has wide access doors and this makes it ideal for guests wanting to be on a single level with easy parking close by. It is en excellent choice if your party includes less mobile members. You can jump out of bed and straight onto the golf course for a quick round before breakfast. Stables has a private garden patio area with BBQ facing west towards the coast and the first tee

Granary is again a split level cottage sleeping 6 in two double bedrooms and a twin bedded room.

Again the kitchen area is as well equipped as Barn and Mill.

Ivyleaf Barton itself is the main house and sleeps 8 people in 5 star luxury. There are two king sized bedrooms (one ensuite) with new oak furniture and new beds for 2012 and two twin bedded rooms, a family bathroom and separate cloakroom. The kitchen/diner is fully equipped with modern dual fuel range cooker, separate fridge and freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. There is a separate dining room and lounge on the upper level. The lounge has views over the countryside to the far distance and 42 inch plasma TV/video with Freeview for additional TV channels.

Location

Ivyleaf Hill is an exclusive residential area approximately two miles north of Bude located just off the A39 Atlantic Highway. It is an elevated position with stunning views over both the coast towards Bude Bay and in the distance to Trevose Head and also the North Cornish countryside towards Bodmin. The National Trust beach at Sandymouth is approx 3-4 miles distant. Guests at Ivyleaf Barton Cottages enjoy free use of a re-surfaced all weather full size tennis court . There are some rackets and balls available for use if your have forgotten your own equipment.

There is a privately owned 9 hole golf course and driving range where Ivyleaf guests enjoy a special weekly rate and have a private access gate. The par 33 course starts from just in front of cottages Barn, Mill, Granary and Stables so there are few excuses not to get a round in before breakfast.

Hartland Forest Golf Club Holes 18 Par 71
It is home to many natural hazards that will have you scratching your head without frustrating you to the point of giving in. It also includes water on several holes so make sure you know and use your irons well or you could end up reaching for one of the extra balls in your bag. Measuring 6015 yards over eighteen diverse holes, it offers a par of 71, which tells you that a good solid test of your ability lies ahead of you.
