Lakeview Lodge is a privately owned, Scandinavian style, red cedar lodge standing in a prime position. Set amongst a group of other lodges within 114 acres of parkland and its own 18 hole golf course, the lodge has magnificent panoramic views over lakes, open countryside and forest woodlands. Set within this peaceful and picturesque setting, the lodges are an ideal base from which to explore the North Devon Heritage coast. Within a short scenic drive are miles of sandy beaches, surfing at Bude and Westward Ho!, the picturesque fishing village of Clovelly and historic port and antiques centre of Bideford.

To the other side of the Lodge there is a double bedroom with 5ft bed and fitted wardrobe, a twin bedroom with two 3ft beds, wardrobe and en-suite shower room with shower cubicle, basin and WC. A second twin bedroom with 3ft beds and wardrobe, views out to the lakes and a bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC.

Outside: The Lodge, sited amongst similar lodges, has the advantage of being on the edge of the group with a grass area that slopes gently down to the lakes. Decking, with a table, chairs, barbecue stand and sun loungers, is alongside the living and dining areas.

he Bude & North Cornwall Golf Club is a challenging links course established in 1891. Originally two clubs (North Cornwall for the gentry and Bude for the town, they were merged in 1949). If you are lucky you might spy the resident badger or even an otter in the garden. Set in a wooded valley alongside a road that leads to the fishing port of Bideford (6 miles) and the spectacular north coast for walking, cycling, golf or simply enjoying the wide expanses of endless sandy beaches; the cottage is a perfect rural idyll from which to explore this lovely area.

Great Torrington Golf Club
You will find our golf course is located in one of the prettiest parts of North Devon, with some truly spectacular views, yet we are only 5 minutes from the centre of Great Torrington. The golf course is a true challenge even to the most experienced and skilful players - it is a par 64, 9 hole course, with very different tee positions for the second nine giving it a markedly different character.

About Ivyleaf Cottages

 

We have seven self catering cottages, including Ivyleaf Barton house itself. All cottages have a patio and BBQ area (BBQ's provided free of charge).

 

Linhay and Byre are single storey cottages both rated 4 star sleeping 2 in a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom. Linhay was refitted in 2008 and now boasts a super ensuite shower room with large easy access shower. The sitting room and open plan kitchen make it a smart bolt hole for romantic getaway breaks and the LCD TV, CD/DAB radio and feature electric fire make it cosy during colder months

 

Barn and Mill are 2 storey cottages sleeping 4 overlooking the golf course and the coast

Both have a double bedroom with a second bedroom in Barn has a pair of full size bunk beds and Mill has a twin bedded room. The kitchens are well equipped and include a dishwasher and microwave in addition to the full size cooker LCD TV and DVD player

 

Courtside is a modern luxury cottage sleeping 3-4 people on 2 floors with a contemporary feel with black leather sofas and dining chairs. It has a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, fridge freezer and washer/dryer. The fully tiled shower-room/wc is also on the ground floor. Upstairs is a double bedroom and a bedroom with single bed and pull out secondary bed. These bedrooms have been converted from a loft space and have velux windows and some restricted headroom.

 

Stables is a single storey cottage sleeping 6 in two double bedrooms (one ensuite) and a twin bedded room. Stables has wide access doors and this makes it ideal for guests wanting to be on a single level with easy parking close by. It is en excellent choice if your party includes less mobile members. You can jump out of bed and straight onto the golf course for a quick round before breakfast. Stables has a private garden patio area with BBQ facing west towards the coast and the first tee

 

Granary is again a split level cottage sleeping 6 in two double bedrooms and a twin bedded room.

Again the kitchen area is as well equipped as Barn and Mill.

 

Ivyleaf Barton itself is the main house and sleeps 8 people in 5 star luxury. There are two king sized bedrooms (one ensuite) with new oak furniture and new beds for 2012 and two twin bedded rooms, a family bathroom and separate cloakroom. The kitchen/diner is fully equipped with modern dual fuel range cooker, separate fridge and freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. There is a separate dining room and lounge on the upper level. The lounge has views over the countryside to the far distance and 42 inch plasma TV/video with Freeview for additional TV channels.

 

Location

Ivyleaf Hill is an exclusive residential area approximately two miles north of Bude located just off the A39 Atlantic Highway. It is an elevated position with stunning views over both the coast towards Bude Bay and in the distance to Trevose Head and also the North Cornish countryside towards Bodmin. The National Trust beach at Sandymouth is approx 3-4 miles distant. Guests at Ivyleaf Barton Cottages enjoy free use of a re-surfaced all weather full size tennis court . There are some rackets and balls available for use if your have forgotten your own equipment.

 

There is a privately owned 9 hole golf course and driving range where Ivyleaf guests enjoy a special weekly rate and have a private access gate. The par 33 course starts from just in front of cottages Barn, Mill, Granary and Stables so there are few excuses not to get a round in before breakfast.
