Box Green Cottage is an old Cotswold weavers cottage on 3 floors It has two narrow staircases making it an authentic Cotswold experience. Please ask if you have any concerns .

Outside there is seating for four outside front door. There is no garden but the cottage is situated just off the village green & only a very short walk to 600 acres of National Trust common land.
Box is situated right in the heart of beautiful Cotswold countryside which is great for walking, cycling and horse riding. Nailsworth and Minchinhampton are both only a few minutes drive away. Both towns have many interesting shops, pubs & restaurants close at hand.
The slightly larger town of Stroud is approximately 10 minutes away. Here you can find a bustling high street, the famous Saturday farmers market, the museum in the park and a sports and leisure centre. The picturesque town of Cirencester is a twenty minute drive away as is the lovely market town of Tetbury. Cirencester also has a good sports centre and swimming pool. Gloucester & Cheltenham are approximately half an hour away and the lovely city of Bath is 40 minutes away.
There are three golf courses in Michinhampton. The Old Golf Course is situated on 600acres of common land, just a short walk away from the cottage. The new Minchinhampton club course at Avening features two world class 18 hole courses and a friendly club with fantastic food is 10 minutes drive. A nine hole public course is found at Westonbirt next to the Arboretum.

The golf course has evolved over 100 years and its natural contours and the absence of bunkers give it a special character which is seldom repeated elsewhere. The initial impression may be that the course is wide-open but after a few holes it is evident that the St Andrews factor applies and that positional play is very important. The numerous humps and hollows around the greens test the golfers ability to play a variety of shots - often in difficult conditions.

The Cherington Course If the quality of the test it presents can be measured by its use as a Championship venue then the Cherington passes with flying colours. Although the newer of the two courses, it hosted The Open Championship Regional qualifying from 2002 to 2007 and the English Mid-Amateur in 2007. Its links style is complemented by large and testing greens.
The Avening Course was designed by Fred Hawtree and features several lakes, a rich variety of specimen trees, tricky bunkers and challenging greens. Played over the rolling Cotswold landscape it was host for the English County Seniors Finals for the English Golf Union

We are ideally located for a number of tourist attractions with Stratford-upon-Avon, the birth place of William Shakespeare, Cheltenham, Malvern hills, Broadway the start of the Cotswold's which is renown for it's beautiful chocolate box villages and antique shops, all within 30 minutes drive, Worcester only 10 minutes drive,west midland safari park located at Bewdley is also within 30 minutes drive as well as the famous Cadbury’s chocolate world. There is a local swimming baths in Pershore, which is lovely market town,'brum' from the television series is also located in a motor museum at Bourton on the water, we are also located within 30 minutes from Cheltenham race course so are very handy for the Cheltenham festival with the race course for the gold cup reached easily. Warwick castle is only 35 minutes away, and 2 theme parks Drayton manor, 60 mins and Alton Towers 75min.

The main feature being the River Avon which runs the length of the Par 5 Feature Hole. Probably one of the best 9 hole courses in England, clever use of two separate tees for each hole means effectively you enjoy a 18 hole course.
Our Golf Range and 9 hole par 3 course is open to everyone to use. You don't need any experience and equipment is provided free of charge for you to use.
The Redditch Golf Club was founded in 1913 and will shortly be celebrating it's centenary year. The course is acclaimed as one of the finest in Worcestershire. The part parkland and part woodland course of Redditch Golf Club is well known for both its topography and the quality of its playing surfaces. The greens are particularly outstanding.

The lounge/dining room are beautifully designed to maintain a calm and relaxing atmosphere throughout. Guests can enjoy the delightful scenery of the gardens from the lounge area and kick back on the comfortable sofa. For your entertainment, the cottage is equipped with a TV, DVD, Video and CD player.
