The Mooshäusl is a typical Carinthian wooden house set in its own garden and has spectacular views to the mountains and down into the valley of the Gurk.
The self-contained flat on the first floor is pine panelled and decorated in a typical rustic Austrian style,and at the same time modern and comfortable. All the rooms open from a spacious hall. The attractive light living/dining-room with its own balcony has two sofas which can also be used as extra beds, a TV a CD player and a wood-burning stove. At the other end of the room is a corner dining table and there is a hatch into the small, fully equipped and modern kitchen. The flat is heated with electric radiators, easily controlled by thermostats. There is a sauna /shower-room and a laundry room with washing machine and dryer in the basement.
For the large garden there are deckchairs and a barbeque. There is a carport for 2 cars.

The village of Gnesau is situated in the region of the famous Nock Mountains in Carinthia an especially unspoiled part of Southern Austria. It offers many possibilities for sport and excursions in spring, summer, autumn and winter. The wonderful mountain countryside, with over 1000 idyllic and well planned and maintained hiking paths in the National Park are close by. In the winter the whole area is famous for its skiing. The Mooshäusl is situated 10 minutes walk from the village of Gnesau. There is a “Spar” shop and some excellent traditional restaurants in the village. It is a five minute wander to the nearest farmhouse where you can buy fresh milk, bread and cheese.
Feldkirchen is the nearest larger town (18 minutes drive), Bad Kleinkirchheim (10 minutes drive) is a famous alpine spa with thermal baths for Wellness and cures. There are many other interesting destinations for excursions. There is a Post bus linking Gnesau with the resorts.

Golf: The nearest 18 hole golf course, in Bad Kleinkirchheim, is 10 minutes drive away and there are 11 more golf courses in Carinthia. Well-groomed greens, lush fairways, breathtaking views over the landscape together with Carinthia's Mediterranean climate are what this, the most southern province of Austria, offers.
Ski: Ten minutes from the Mooshäusl is Bad Kleinkirchheim - a World Cup host, and close by are Turracherhöhe, St Oswald and Patergassen - over 160 km of linked pisted ski trails and Carinthia’s longest runs. There is extensive off-piste for skiers and snow-boarders and excellent instructors/guides, ski schools and kindergartens. There are many miles of cross-country skiing trails, some starting from right beside the Mooshäusl. This is the huge sun-kissed ski area of the Nock Mountains with snow from the beginning of December to the end of April and guaranteeing snow on the runs for the whole season are over 800 snow-making machines. Modern lifts scale to 2200m and the ski pass is valid throughout Carinthia. There is also sledging and night tobogganing. Superb panoramic views and traditional ski-huts add to the charm and popularity of this area.

The Villa Orléans was built in the 19th century as a shooting lodge for the French Dukes of Orléans. It is set on the edge of the village of Attersee in Upper Austria and close to the shore of Lake Attersee itself.
The original house has been carefully divided to provide nine distinctive and individual apartments, each with its own kitchen and bathroom facilities. Many of the apartments have their own balconies, and all have superb views to over Lake Attersee to the Höllengebirge. Guests have the use of the house's private beach for bathing, mooring boats and generally relaxing.
Villa Orléans is set on the edge of the village of Attersee on the Lake Attersee.
It was built in 1924 as a shooting lodge for the French Duke Pédro Orléans and has been the home of the present owner, the Countess Kottulinsky, for over 50 years. The original house has been carefully divided to provide nine apartments, each with its own kitchen facilities.
From the entrance drive, a flight of steps lead up to the front door and into the splendid reception hall, with the lovely original gleaming parquet floor, wooden beamed ceiling and comfortable sofas and tables. It is heated by a superb traditional ceramic-tiled wood-burning stove, topped with an onion-dome reminiscent of that on the nearby church on the adjoining hill. For music lovers there is a beautiful Steinway grand piano in the hall.
To the left of this room, double doors lead into the ground-floor apartment 2. The main staircase leads up to apartment 6 and apartment 7. A cool stone spiral staircase leads from the side entrance up to apartment 8, apartment 9 and apartment 12 on the first floor and up again to room 18, apartment 19 and the Stadl apartment nestling under the steep roof. Additional self-contained accommodation is available in the chalet at the side of the house.
From the front terrace, thyme-edged steps lead down through grass studded with geranium phaeum, clover, buttercups and wild garlic to the road. A few metres along, on the other side, is the house's private beach where guests can swim, relax, and moor their boats.
The lake is 22km long and has the best water quality. It is also Austria's most famous sailing lake. There are two yacht clubs which offer sailing courses for both beginners and advanced sailors. Lake Attersee is home to the famous international regattas which can be watched in comfort from the house.

There are summer festivals in the whole region like The "Attergauer Kulturesommer", Attersee Klassic, Concerts in Castle Kammer (a picturesque castle on the lake), in Castle Kogl, in Schörfling in Steinbach and in other surrounding villages and Operettas in Bad Ischl.
Of course Salzburg - home of the famous Festival - is only forty minutes drive on the motorway.
